The small school walking distance is probably ideal because it gives more time after school for afterschool activities or playing with friends on school nights because the kids arent losing 45 minutes of that time to the afternoon commute.

As much as i would love them being that close to nature i think the bus ride would be counter productive to that and i wouldnt want my kids to have to travel 1:30mins to and from school each day.

Small school walking from my home is the best choice to me. I wouldn't want my kid going that away from home to a school in the forest which doesn't seem safe to me.

Second benefit, that is saving 1.5 hours in commuting time every day, which is time they are just sitting there doing nothing. That time cold be spent more productively.

I have two toddler daughters and no question I would much prefer a school close to home where I could walk them and if anything happened I could reach them easily. Sending them on a 45 minute ride into the forest is inconceivable to me and I would never be okay with that setup.

i would definitely want my child to be as close to home as possible, especially with all of the school shootings that are going on out of nowhere.
