Which icon is more appealing to you for a mobile strategy war game? Why.

35 Responses to Option A
I'm intrigued by A. I haven't seen anything like it before in a virtual game store.
I think I've actually seen the first one being used a lot. I like the variety of the second one--it's an artistic take on it.
The fire feels like fighting not like strategy
I like the design of the interface. Option B seems to common while A is original.
Looks friendlier, B looks violent.
It's unique and tells a lot with a small amount of space.
Unusual. I like it.
The divided face make the game seem more strategic, like you can pick and choose aspects of your warrior to make your game plan more strategic.
The whole 2 split faces really gives you the intensity of a war game. One side vs the other.
The one on the left looks like it could be any kind of game, while the one on the right feels more like a strategy game.
The artwork in A is much more interesting and distinctive.
I really love the icon design.
More complex and interesting
It shows multiple characters. Gives me an idea of different factions I could play as.
I have seen alot of Icons for games that look very similar to option B, so I think option A would get my attention more.
Both are really good, but I prefer Option A because it's a bit abstract and different.
This one looks a little less violent and less potential for gore.
This icon is just more interesting and unique to me
it's more intriguing. B looks like a distorted screenshot
I like the two face thing. Good vs bad represented
Feels like more strategy than aggression
It looks more like a phone video game go me than B. B looks like something that would be on a board game.
It's a unique and innovated design.
cooler graphic
Look more interesting
like that it shows that the game is between Royals and knights
not as scary
Because of the duality of man.
Option A is my choice. If it's strategy, I'm going with the wise old fellow. He has wisdom and he has survived a lot of war games. So he has to have a lot of know how. There is fire in his eyes which tells me he is ready for war.
for a mobile game I don't think the graphics would be good enough for a picture of an actual person/ its not what I expect from a mobile game. I expect the bubbly icon.
A is more intriguing. I like the idea of an interplay between knights and kings.
It seems to indicate that choice will be more of an option in this game. The character seems more calculating and plotting.
It shows enemies
I like this one better.
I feel like I've seen B before -- reminds me a lot of Rome: Total War. A looks a great deal different from other icons and imagery I've seen before.

The other option looks a little weird
Icon looks more realistic.
The other app doesn't really suggest that it's a war game
Prefer the warrior image
The character looks more realistic.
The other icon is more confusing and doesn't immediately read as 'war' to me. The 'knight' looks more like a robot.
At a glance, it looks like Option A is an icon for a highly detailed chess game. However, the way the two components are combined makes it look odd.
The warrior depicted in Icon B feels more appropriate to the type of game, and it is also more appealing due to his dynamic pose and intense expression (compared to the more static image A).
I like this one because you can see the emotion on his face.
The other looks really cheesy.
I like this icon better than the first one because the two sides of the first icon don't really go together. This icon looks more put together.
The knight looks more action-packed and exciting.
Looks more interesting
I think that option B shows more action and creates more excitement for the App.
I don't like how fake A looks.
I don't like how square the first option looks. Plus, the 2nd half of the face looks more like Robocop than a knight. Also, I'm not a fan of the glowing eyes. Option B is more intense. He is a warrior going into battle. That mirrors my role in the game, and I like that.
He reminds me of a classic guy that would be in a war game. His face reminds me that he's ready for battle.
I like its look better
Looks like it contains more action.
A soldier vs. a king is more appealing as a war app as it represents fighting
I like the more realistic look of B over A's graphics. I feel the game for B is more mature than A and would be more like a game I would prefer to play. I especially like the flame graphics, though the overall icon looks a bit muted. It could use a bit more vibrant color.
The split image on A looks weird.
The other one doesn't seem to fit with the game theme.
I like the fire in the background of B. I'm not a big fan of A
the screaming guy is way cooler
While I think they both look similar to other apps, B has more dimension and "action" associated with it. It also looks more mature, so that adults could play it, too.
This icon looks more fierce.
The image makes the game look more exciting.
The "half mask" on option a is really visually unappealing to me, very abrupt and jarring to my eyes. Option b is pretty unremarkable, but it definitely looks good. Especially good, when compared to option a.
A is way too disjointed a picture so it doesn't look very good. I'm not even sure what it's supposed to be.
more intense
Option B is more appealing because of how realistic the icon looks. It looks like a real man screaming versus the very 2 dimensional look of option A.
The picture implies more action, a more exciting game.
The portrait is more intense.
While A does look cool and interesting, it is also somewhat difficult to tell what is being shown. The choice at B makes sense for this type of game and also looks like a game that users would want to play.
More realistic
I like his face better than the face broken into sections
I like option B's artwork way better than option A. Option B looks like he is about to go to war himself.
looks better
better fits the genre
The flames and expression help the second picture out nothing flashy at all about the first one
I like this one - it seems more oriented towards a war game.
The left one looks put together wrong.
I prefer the more realistic image; the flames behind the knight make the scene appear dynamic.
B is more realistic and interesting, A is too cartoonish and silly. Also the eyes on A are very unpleasant.
This icon is more appealing because it shows a different aspect of the character.
Both icons look pretty intense, but I'm going to feel more comfortable playing the game with the icon I selected due to the style of the helmet on the warrior. I like the fire in the background.
B looks more exciting
Looks better
Option B is much more visually appealing and engaging. I would be much more likely to tap that icon if I saw it on the App store.
Much better art style
He looks a lot more into battle with that expression. The art is better too.
As the warrior on it makes me think of war vs a king which is more of a kingdom builder.
I think B fits the description given of the game better, and it catches my eye more, as well.
DENOTES ACTION, THE OTHER CHOICE LOOKS LIKE A GUY SLEEPING
It look so fierce.
Icon B is clearer to me that it is a war game.
This was a tough one--they're both great but the other option could've been confused for a card game.
The graphic was clear and concise and it depicts a true life warrior.
It looks more warlike.
Icon A looks confusing, almost like it could be a puzzle game. Icon B is straightforward and to the point.
I prefer icon B. It seems more dramatic and dynamic.
I like that B is somewhat more realistic
I really prefer the knight. For strategy of war games, it's easy to visualize a knight leading the charge and battling. The icon in option A looks really strange (and a bit creepy) to me.
looks like more action
