From 1 to 5, how interested would you be in using an app that allows you to "swipe" through investment opportunities, (like a Tinder for investing)? If you're interested, what would you need to see to entice you to pay for a subscription? If not, why?

i am not interested, especially if i have to pay. i would rather do a google search on the subject
3- it sounds interesting but also a little shady. I’d try it, but probably not use it. I’d see it as more of a mini series of ads rather than real help.
I think a 3. I like the idea but need more info on how much info the app would give as well as would you be able to invest straight from the app.
I would say I was a 4, but I would need to have a trial period before I would be ready to pay for it. If it doesn't work or ends up being terrible about the recommendations it makes, I would not want to have to pay up front.
not really interested, if i were to be enticed to subscribe to this sort of thing i would need some assurances toward the security of the app and my investments itself and if they can't satisfy that i won't use it
I really like the idea of being able to swipe through investment opportunities although I am not sure that I would be willing to pay for it. There would have to be some assurances. Like, there would be no advertising nor collection of personal information that could be used to advertise or make investment recommendations. With these assurances I would be willing to pay a monthly fee of about $20.
3, I am interested in using an app that allows you to swipe through investment opportunities, and the more information I can see about it, the more likely I am to subscribe.
I think this sounds like an intriguing and novel idea. I would have to hear a lot of good things about it before considering subscribing.
I would only pay for a subscription if the app gave very unique and useful ways for me to make money on investments.
I feel swiping would encourage quick decisions towards investing when i actually think need to slow down and take more time for learning about new investments. This app might encourage impulsive investing.
This sounds like a terrible idea. Investing is not just swiping left and right like a tinder app. People need to consider the risks and look at quarterly reports/financials before even considering purchasing a stock.
I like the concept of making investing easier and more accessible. I would only pay if I think it is useful.
4 - I think that sounds like a very interesting concept that I would give a shot. I always find it hard to start with trying to find new investment opportunities and something like that would help with that issue. However, I would not pay a subscription for something like that, I think a subscription model would be a bad idea because the information that the app would provide could be found easily literally anywhere on the internet with little effort. I think if it was an additional part of an already established brokerage app, then it could be well incorporated into the users' experience and be monetized by the investments made within the brokerage app.
I would totally be interested. I think that this is a great idea that really fits how people operate and like apps today. I would consider subscribing because I think it's such a good idea and very attractive as an app.
I would give this app idea a 3. It has promise, but there's already a lot of apps out there that help people invest, E-Toro is one that gets a lot of ad time lately. It sounds more complex than what this idea proposes, which isn't always a bad thing. Simplistic concepts in relation to money can seem like a scam, marketing will be important. As for what it would take me to pay for it, it'd have to give a lot of centralized information. Charts of investment values over a long period, for example. A wide range of options, perhaps spanning into crypto and not just stocks and bonds. Finally it'd have to have a lot of integrity, no banning the selling of stocks like Robin Hood does. Their platform lost a lot of business over that, including mine, so above all that kind of interference would sink this app.
I would want to see the average return for my investment if I choose that opportunity.
1 - I would wonder who is choosing/curating these "opportunities" (i.e. who is benefitting from the app purchases and who is receiving a commission from the investment purchases). If it was through a brokerage, I'm not sure why I would do this through an app - I would go to my account and if I was looking for something new after independently researching my options, I would talk to a roboadvisor or, more likely, a human financial advisor. If it was not through a legitimate brokerage, but through an aggregator like NerdWallet or something, I'm not going to pay (and trust my personal info) to get advertisements for basic products that are readily available and I certainly wouldn't trust them to give me specific advice. I'd be very suspicious of who is making money off my choices. I'll trust my brokerage.
I would be really interested in this. I would give this a 5 star rating. I would like to see how much the transaction was, the 6 month, 1, 2, and 3 year averages, operating income of the company, dividends, and news bullet points on the company.
5, I would be very interested in it and I would want to know mainly what the dividends are.
to consider swiping through investment opportunities I would think I would consider it as not taking enough time with my thoughts of if I was truly investing in something I just wouldn't be comfortable doing that.
I would definitely like an app that allows me to swipe through investment opportunities but would need to see the net average returns on these opportunities. 5.
I think this may be fun from a casual investing/borderline gambling perspective. But I would be weary of investing any extensive amounts of cash into it.
It’s a unique concept but honestly I don’t have tons of money for investments so I would need to know that everything is safe and that there are good options. If I had to pay to use the app I wouldn’t use it because I could be investing that money haha
5, I am very interested in using an app that allows me to find investing opportunities. I want to become wealthy, so this app would be a great place to start.
I think it'd be interesting, but wouldn't necessarily be interested in a subscription right away. I'd prefer a method where some type of fee would be taken from gains instead.
I guess it depends on the type of investment opportunities being offered. if it is something that would make me money and I’ll have some type of guarantee or a percentage chance next to it maybe that would help me to better decide on purchasing it and if it’s a paid subscription I would only assume that I would be getting the best since I’m having to pay to get in on this information anyways and if it’s not going to do all that I would give it somewhere like a two not really worth the time there’s already enough investment apps out and yeah it’s a no for me
I don't think this would be an interesting idea as most people will feel as if it they have to swipe on opportunities that may not be the most beneficial to them. The question becomes why use this app (and paying for it which is a cost opportunity) versus just investing into the S&P 500. There needs to be a really good chance at a potential for return before I would use this app.
I would be interested but I would not like to pay for it, I like the idea of swiping to “add” things to a interested or watch list
I would say I would be a 4 on that scale. Definitely would like to know more about it. I would need to know exactly how it works and how easy it is to invest through that app. I would need to be sure that my investment is safe and that I'm not going to get scammed. It would be nice to know how they would verify the investment opportunities that they promote on the app. If those questions are answered I think the price of the subscription would be the final question.
I wouldnt pay for this subscription but if it was free I would use it
If the app included a feature that allowed users to vote on whether an investment is headed or up or down and showed previous results from those polls. This way you could gauge whether or not others have similar thoughts about an investment opportunity and you have data about how right (or wrong) people using the app have been over time. Since people using the app would have a similar mindset and or goals, I think it would be worth it since it could pay for itself just by steering you in the right direction a few times.
I would be interested in this if it was based on professionally picked stocks with greater potential as you swipe.
Sounds like a unique concept that could discover new things to invest in
I'm like a 3 interested. I think that it's interesting that they can get younger people into investing, but I don't see why I would have to have so many different options for investing when you can just keep it simple and invest in ETFs
My answer would be '3'. First off, I would definitely need more information and details on how there would be an investment-- are these buying shares to a company? Also I would need to know whether this will be a short term or long term investment. I don't mind doing the "swipe" as a feature, but not revolving around investing.
2. Why would I have to pay for a subscription? You would have to offer a lot more than investment opportunities for me to use it, let alone pay a subscription. How curated are the opportunities? Who by? I already invest, I put in time to read prospectuses, financial statements, independent auditor statements, etc. Why should I trust you to pick certain investments? The odds are good that you would be getting paid already to promote certain investments, and that is likely not going to benefit me to pay you to advertise to me.
1. I wouldn’t be interested as it seems like a lot of work. I could just google the same things.
I think I would enjoy this. I would question the validity of some of the investment options though without a doubt.
it would have to have decent prices not some over priced thing were you pay a lot but dont get anything good out of it
Without further information, I would say 3.5/5. I would need to see that the investments are vetted and legitimate, and have some kind of guarantee.
I would give it a 1. I feel like it is just going to be bad idea after bad idea, and not be worth it.
I think it would be interesting to see investment opportunities. the only problem is how do you verify they are not scams.?
I think it sounds like an interesting idea. I would probably do it if it was free though.
My interest would be a 2. I prefer to make investments through trusted platforms like Vanguard.
it might be okay if the research was thorough for each opportunity and it was not just a blurb about it.
It is an interesting concept. I would subscribe if the fee went toward "credits or rewards" toward investments. And if the investment were given some sort of review/rating system based on volatility, return, cost/risk ratio, etc.
Not at all. Robinhood already gameified investing enough, this is the last thing we need
Probably not as it sounds very gimmicky, and doesn't sound like it would be actually good options.
5, i would be very interested if the app made specific stock investment recommendations
I'd not be interested at all. I'd want opportunities to dig into investments and see the full details from multiple angles. Swiping right or left implies that investments should be made on a whim.
