Which book would you rather read? This is a science fiction adventure story reminiscent of pulp sci-fi magazines of the 30' and 40's.
Option D won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 29 votes after 3 rounds of votes counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 | Round 2 | Round 3 |
---|---|---|---|
D | 24% 12 votes | 34% 17 votes +5 | 58% 29 votes +12 |
C | 34% 17 votes | 40% 20 votes +3 | 42% 21 votes +1 |
A | 22% 11 votes | 26% 13 votes +2 | Eliminated 13 votes reassigned |

"The Astounding Adventures of Charlotte and Willow: The Key to Infinity" sounds the most interesting to me, it has a more classic sound to it that seems more authentic to the time period.
Astounding Adventure sounds less cliché than amazing so I like A over D. I like A the best in general because it sounds the most adventurous.
If you're trying to model it after the 30s and 40s, you have to be campy, and A and D have long titles that are structured in the campiest way possible!
"The Astounding Adventures of Charlotte and Willow: The Key to Infinity" has quite the ring to that kind of SciFi!
A is a perfect balance. I think D is too long. C is way too short. B has too many "ands" in one sentence
the last one has too many "and"s in it. the first two have a nice title with explantive part after which is kind of cool. 3 is okay but a bit boring.
I liked choice A since it is detailed and grabs my interest right away. Choice A is the most lengthy but is appealing to read. Choice C is too short and not as appealing to read.
I like both "amazing" and "astounding" adventures. It does sound very pulp magazine.
"Astounding Adventures" sounds good and pulpy but it's not overly wordy. B is clean but not old fashioned. C is very clean but implies nothing beyond the one story. D "Amazing Adventures" has been used too much.
All the ands in Option B are terrible. It is poor grammar and would be an immediate turn off. I would think it is a low quality book. I don't really car for Amazing in a title either because it makes me think of the amazing spiderman, so I feel like I am about to get a super hero book, which isn't appealing to me either. I like the astounding adventures the best because it makes it seems like this will be a story that takes me along for a ride with the main characters like an old radio story broadcast. Option C is just kind of boring. Not good or bad.
Based on how the title "flows", I would choose Option A, then D, C, and unfortunately not B. B just doesn't sound correct at all.

I prefer the character names first to introduce the key to infinity that is described in choices B and D
B is short but includes the relevant characters and plot. A and D sound like they're from the era, but they're long and feel a little clunky nowadays. A's use of Astounding feels more vintage. C sounds like a fairly modern sci fi story title, with minimal extra information.
B was interesting and had a good flow to it. The sound was engaging.
B has the most and intimate format that shows a great deal of character and progression.
This title is short, concise, to the point, and interesting all at the same time.
B reminds me of other similar book series, like the Hardy Boys or Tom Swift. This fits my view of the book. D and A harken back to earlier times and feel rather old fashioned. C, on the other hand, is too modern - it could be any sort of book, from a Christian self-help book to a spy thriller. So I definitely prefer B.
the top choice is straight to the point and easier to read
I chose the order that was shorter and easier to read. Longer titles made it harder for me to be enticed to read.
B gives just enough without being superfluous.
Option C doesn't give enough information. Option B tells me just enough. I have two female characters and an object that hints at what it does, A and D add adjectives that really don't tell me anything and I may not agree with them after I read the book.

C I find to be the most intriguing because it is short, simple, and straight to the point. It does not try to do too much.
I like titles that are straight to the point. I like this one the best because it only takes a view words to tell what the story is about. I like how it sounds too. I chose B second because it says the names but still is pretty simple
Shorter title catches my attention
C is my personal favorite option because I can kinda get the idea of the story without being distracted with the fluff like in the other titles. I think B is the worst option because Charlotte and Willow alone with the Infinity tagline aren't that interesting.
I'm a firm believer that short titles are much more memorable and more attention grabbing.
I like the simplicity of just having the title be without the character names attached or without the superlatives.
I honestly just prefer the short version. It sounds the best. The others are way too wordy. This one sounds awesome as it is.
I think just key too infinity is mysterious, doesn't give anything away, and makes me very interested
I prefer the shorter title in C. I think it’s all you need. It’s more memorable with fewer words
With this less is more. Just the key to infinity has so many options. Very interesting
C and B are the best because the titles are simple. A and D are longer and less catchy.
So if you wanted to play to theme, I'd actually go with D first, but that's not what you asked. You asked which book I'd rather read based on the title, so I'd have to go with option C. Sometimes less is more, and this would definitely be the case here. It's short, but more importantly, it's mysterious. The title has me curious what this might be about. This is a title that would make me pick up the book in a store and check it out. As for the other options, well, I think they all pale in comparison. I chose option B next, because again, it's a simple title that gives it a bit more mystery. Then for D and A, I chose D over A because "Amazing" just sounds better to me than "Astounding", but that's me. Again, one of those "Amazing" or "Astounding" titles might work in a pulp sci-fi magazine in the 30s or 40s, but this isn't the 30s or 40s. You need to appeal to a person's sense of mystery and option C does that really well.
First and foremost, I just like the title without the names of the people so this would be my first choice
C. Simple and still interesting. Leaves more to my imagination. These others are too long and over the top.
Option C is the best because it is a detailed and simple caption that speaks to audiences.
The name is succinct and thought provoking. The name sparks curiosity and is agreeable.
I ranked A and D the lowest as they actually sound more like children's novels by the use of words like "astounding" and "amazing"; Option C is my favorite as it is lacking this implied childishness and is very terse and to the point. B is like this to a lesser extent, but the naming of the characters in the title is still reminiscent of a kid's book.

I like the long titles, but for some reason The Astounding Adventures doesnt sound as good as The Amazing Adventures, so Option D
I think the titles in my top 2 picks sound the most like something you'd read in that time period, Amazing Adventures, Astounding Adventures sounds just like those old comics/stories.
B is last because without knowing who Charlotte and Willow are, their names do not draw me in any better than "The Key to Infinity." I like how D sounds because of the words "Adventure" and "Hunt for". It makes it feel like it'll be a great adventure and scavenge hunt.
I believe the longer titles are more fitting of the era and style they're going for.
I like the "key to infinity" phrase and the term "hunt."
These books sound the best based on their title overall
The hunt sounds fun.
Options D and A both had very good titles. I like D the most, it has a good overall feel to it.
the first and second choice tells me that it is an adventure and gives me the sense of an amazing story set in a mysterious environment where they have to solve puzzles to get closer to the key
The "and"s are too close together in Option B, it sounds weird. Amazing makes a better adjective than Astounding in my opinion. Option C is a bit plain, though D and A are arguably too long, but they are the best options here.
The first 2 options sound like the best titles for this book or piece of literature although the 2nd option sounds a tad bit illiterate. The last 2 options are not good at all in my view.
D and A sound like big and epic tales which I think this book is trying to be. B is okay. C is way too short.
