Based on the book's title (fiction about a child grieving for a pet), which title are you likely to buy?
Option A won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 28 votes after 2 rounds of votes counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 | Round 2 |
---|---|---|
A | 42% 21 votes | 56% 28 votes +7 |
C | 32% 16 votes | 44% 22 votes +6 |
B | 26% 13 votes | Eliminated 13 votes reassigned |

When Winnie Went Away sounds like it would pull on my heartstrings the most. Seems like a good title for a book that deals with death.
I chose to put where winnie went last because I wouldn't lie to my child about what happens after someone dies
I think option A is the most descriptive and easier for a child to understand and learn from.
I think option A captures the emotion of the book really well, and it is my personal favorite out of these 3 options.
It sounds like the pet passed, best option.
I like my first choice because it feels like something happened and must be resolved.
Choice A was my favorite because it flows off the tongue very well, and hints at the subject of grieving without being outright. The other two choices have potential, but they are just kind of awkward sounding.
I think that A and C do the best job of presenting death in a non-scary way. By saying that Winnie "went somewhere" (B), I feel like it raises the specter that the child could somehow "find" the pet in another location
I chose A first because the title is sweet, sad and to the point. It works well for the subject of the book. I chose B next for similar reasons. It doesn't flow quite as well as the first one but overall, I wouldn't say it's bad. I chose C last because it doesn't flow well. It's not a bad title but it isn't my favorite.
Option A sounds the most natural, followed by C which sounds okay. B sounds terrible and unnatural.
I chose option A. I will almost always pick the choice with alliteration. I just love it looks and the way it sounds. It's very creative and eye catching to me.
A sounds the most reasonable and rolls of the tongue better than the other options. Good name and makes you wonder what it could potentially be about. The rest are too open ended
I choose A first because this describes the situation for grieving. I choose C second because this closely follows A and describes the feelings after the pet died. I put B last as while I find this a really nice title, it doesn't really include grieving so much.
I ranked the potential title's for this book that I liked the most. I think that option A is the most comforting sounding, followed by option C, and finally option B.
I like A the best, because "when" is more immediate than "after", and I feel that a parent shopping for a book on grieving the loss of a pet would want one for the feelings that come immediately following the loss. I chose C last based on this notion.
I think alliteration is best when making books for children. It makes it easier for them to remember. For that reason, I choose option A.
the only one i don't like is C because maybe it could be interpreted as something bad happening to winnie
I like option A the most. I can feel the sadness and story line in this title
Judging solely on the titles, A and C convey a book that deals with the emotions of losing a pet as where B's title deals with afterlife themes.
it was looking so nice one nice words to see
I chose the title that I felt best represented a book about a child grieving for a pet.

i like the name. simple and catchy
it feels a little more warming but easy and hard at the same time, the conversation you don't want to have but need to
B has the most mystery behind the title helping a person get curious to want to read. The other two aren't as mysterious and I don't think are as exciting titles.
It sounds like how I would explain a pet dying to a child so I like option B the best. I picked C over A because I think it better describes what the book will be about and is a little more clear
This one builds intrigue and interest
B and A are better than C because children love questions as titles, B is more interesting than A because children love places instead of times.
I do not really like any of these titles. In order to decide, I said each out loud and picked the most natural sounding one.
I chose B, I just lost a pet late last year and I like to think that she went to a very happy place.
i think option B is the best title for a child
I chose B because it sounds mostly appropriate and perfectly fits the book, followed by C and A.
effectiveness of the description
the first headline is very close to heart.
B sounds like a sweet and fun adventure that leaves me curious. C and A are a little sad and depressing.

I ranked the titles about what was the most fitting of a passing of a pet.
I feel that C is not only appropriate, but also straight forward. I would the title helps with teaching children about griefing.
I like C best because I feel like it will deal with more feelings. Not just the death, but dealing with it after. Option A feels more like they will just talk about when the pet actually died, not how a child would deal with it. I don't like B because I would not know the authors view and it might not be the same as mine. I would not want a writer putting these ideas in my childs head.
I think the "away" is really compelling so B 3. I also think "after" really puts the emphasis on the story and creates a sense of suspense so C 1 and A 2
the first one is more descriptive of what the story would be like, e second one is good too the third one is kind of obscure
Title C seems more catchy and interesting
I chose C first because it has to do with the child's emotions after the death of their beloved pet and maybe look at what a person did to cope with it. I then chose B because I preferred the alliteration of W's after after, but I feel like this would be an excellent choice because it might be able to help comfort the child knowing their pet isn't gone. I finally chose a last because the W words were all too similar and a bit overwhelming.
"After" and "When" feel like they would give a better idea of the immediate grieving process.
I prefer Option C. The child is grieving after the pet dies so this is the most appropriate title. A would be my next choice, but I much prefer C as a title. When Winnie Went Away could have several different meanings. B is my least favorite title, if the book is talking about the child's grief Option C title sounds better. This one sounds like it has a religious theme.
'After Winnie Went Away 'its a wonderful tittle, i think its most attractive, secondly i going for choice a , its also very nice and interesting one that why i given second rank/ both title are interesting but comparing ot a choice C is good
I like after Winnie went away the best because i feel like it would explain what happens and help deal with the feelings at that point.
Option C, This title awakens my curiosity and imagination, my creativity grows to know what happened: "After Winnie Went Away"
I liked the above title
C sounds like it would be emotional, A sounds like it would be interesting, B sounds mysterious.
winnie Went
C has a more direct description, it is more appropriate, A comes next, it is sort of appropriate, B is the least appropriate for me.
