Which book descriptions do you prefer and why?
25 Responses to Option A
the review at the bottom of the description makes it feel less boring, having them at the top for me to read though first felt like agony
I don't want to read reviews on the book description. Of course it'll use positive reviews. I like that A gets to the plot immediately.
I like them both but was enthralled a little bit more with Option A. It's lighthearted but obviously the subject is serious. There is a fun quality to it that's dynamic and exciting.
Option A does a better job of capturing my attention right away and pulling me into the story with the text used, so that is the one I would choose.
This goes straight into the plot and draws you
I chose option A. This one doesn't waste much time in getting to the plot.
I'd rather read a plot summary than testimonials first.
I chose this option because it was easier to read and comprehend. The other option is confusing because it alternates between reviews and synopsis and reviews, too jumbled.
"Amazon reader" quotes are always a turn-off for me.
It's the first sentence of choice A that I want to continue reading to find out more about this book
Less is more. When people see too much going on they instantly go into skip mode so no matter how well written your synopsis is, people won't see it.
Tell me about the book itself, not what other people think of it. I may have different tastes.
A has a way of capturing the reader's attention by indulging some fine and interesting details, it awakens curiosity and imagination. It is vivid and very enticing. it is also very creative.
I prefer this because it describes more about the characters before mentioning Johnny Depp and Amber Heard which makes it more unique and interesting to me.
I prefer the description in A because it was more captivating. I like the word choices, and the way it is formatted better than Option B.
I like the comparison to Fifty Shades of Grey.
I don't care for the quotes and subjective recommendations. I strongly prefer Option A.
I prefer it's description overall for A, but especially the 50 shades of gray on steroids part.
i like how a opens up with a description of the book. it draws me in more.
I liked the wording for option A slightly better. I don't think the Johnny depp trial should be mentioned though and makes me disinterested in the book for that comparison because a woman was abused in that relationship.
This description got me more interested because it didn't reveal as much information as the other. I also liked that the description came before the reviews.
A gets my attention because it right away gives me more information about the book.
Option A is top because I like how the description starts with the plot of the book which gets me hooked to want to read more. I dislike how Option B starts with quotes because I don't have any context for them right off the bat.
A because the passage is more descriptive and much more appealing than option B
I like that this book is stated to keep you guessing until the end, and readers have free access to dozens of video screens related to the book to further enhance your reading pleasure and experience.

The reviewx and comments are eye catching and easier to read. It makes me want to read it without even reading the whole description
very concise and the summary is more helpful when compared to the other option
I like how it talks about real life events. Seems more to touch emotions and seems exciting.
This sounds more exciting and the synopsis also focuses more on the story as opposed to external real news stories.
This book description emphasized fame and indulgence more which I preferred.
I like that B has reviews from actual readers, it is more relatable.
Both have well rounded reviews that describe the book without giving away too much. Option B has a balanced variety while A's first blurb as an immediate turn-off due to the poor grammar and spelling.
I find that this present a less disjointed account of events and thus makes it easier to follow along and visualize the events happening
I find Option B more attention grabbing because it leads with the quotes that liken the book's drama to Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's court case. That immediately paints a picture of what's in the book.
I like this one, how it starts out and how it gives the reviews first, and then goes into the information-- and i like the way it was described better in general.... the way they said Cayden was well liked and charismatic-- instead of just saying 33 year old... i like the description in this one much more. it really takes you there so you get an idea of the character.
I prefer B because I think it offers a less referential description that relies on its own merits.
I think the audience that this book is targeting will be drawn to the mention of the specific celebrities and their scandals, which are slightly more prominent in this description.
I think both options are really overselling the story. Sounds really overblown. You have a so-so description of a story, then you try to compare that to a blockbuster movie. Not sure that's the best route. Option B is probably better, because it uses reviews, which gives it a bit more credibility.
Option B looks more convincing, interesting, and more engaging.
I think this description is more cohesive and captivating. I don't care for the 50 Shades comparison in the other one either.
i like how option B has reviews from other readers. i also like how the description of the book is placed in between the reviews
I like the way this description sets up the plot and story. Does a good job comparing it to other things before getting into the plot. So you'll have an idea right away if the story is for you.
These books seem cringe-worthy and something I would not even allow in my garbage. If I had to choose, B is more compelling because it does not lead with the phrase, "well-liked TV news reporter" which is mostly an oxymoron and a bad way to engage people in your prose. Neither of these books are compelling for anything but firewood.
I always feel that quotes summing up the book are effective. This is no different as the quotes immediately add interest with B.
I prefer option B because this description is easier to comprehend.
i dont care about the other 8 sex stories, this one is fine, i wish the body was up top but all in all this one is much much better than the other one
Option B is a far more natural book description and reads a lot easier.
I prefer option B's book description because it manages to give me enough content to make a decision to read the book while still being vague about the plot.
I prefer option B. I like that it sounds like a page-turner. It would be totally engrossing to read this book. I like this book description pulls you in without technology challenging your ability to read and enjoy it.
I like Option B the most because I think it describing more about the book and what to expect. It makes me want to read it more than Option A does.
