Morbid but makes me curious.

The silhouette of a man dragging the body better conveys the mystery genre than the image of the cat; I might be intrigued by the cat, but it could represent just about any genre, and if I were looking for something more specific, I would be drawn to the more concrete imagery.

A lot of people love the beach and other imagery that suggest it such as palm trees. Moonlight is good imagery for mystery. And the guy carrying what seems to be a bound corpse further adds to the mystery and makes me want to read to find out what's happening.

I choose A because the blue background is inviting and appealing.

I love the blue cover and the man dragging a body behind him. This cover makes me really want to read the book to discover why the man is dragging the body. I want to know who they are, how they met, how they ended up on the beach, one dead, one alive. What's their story?

Both are pretty eye catching covers, but I think the simplistic background of choice B actually makes the book more mysterious. In addition, I don't quite know what the man is dragging behind him in option A (almost looks like a giant club), whereas the background of choice B is clearly that of a big cat. Therefore, choice B is the better option.
