I like knowing the product, photos help with that. The price reflects the quality in many cases and then the customer reviews often help seal the deal.

I sell a lot on ebay and can tell you the reviews can be wild. Some people just make stuff up so I do not really trust those if tehre are onyl a few negative ones.
I ranked the features on a Etsy product that is the most important to me. The first thing that I notice is the photo of the product followed by the price. I then read the product description. I then consider the shipping and return policies followed by the customer review and then finally the seller information.
I loved the Mom and Pop Experience of Etsy but unscrupulous sorts have also entered into Etsy. I placed an order for Lawn Ornaments from a nice little couple in Texas. Turns out, it was a scam out of a foreign website and Paypal reviews gave it many warnings. Paypal refunded my money right away thank goodness.
What influences your decision to buy something on Etsy? Please rank these in order of importance:- The top of my list is photos and price. I have to be able to see what I'm buying, and I have to know how much it costs. If either of those two options don't work out for me, I don't look any further.
I really care about all of these things a lot. Just because I put product description last doesn't mean it's not important. But, the photos are definitely the first draw so option A comes in first. After that, if someone obviously has a lot of negative reviews that would be something I would notice and probably stay away from so option C comes next. Then there's option B and affordability is a factor, especially these days. Then there's option E - it's really the shipping costs I'm concerned about here. If there's a major issue, I know I can rely on my credit card to resolve it. Then there's option F - I like to support small sellers which are difficult to find on Etsy even though it bills itself as a small business venue. I'm honestly really disappointed with Etsy since there's so much junk from AliExpress, etc on there. It's really a depressing shopping experience lately. Finally there's option D, but product description is also important. You need as much information about an item to make an informed purchase.
The product itself first and foremost, however the reviews and seller rating are very important since Etsy is a marketplace of private sellers.
since I'm specifically looking for something, I make sure the quality is good by looking at the pictures. Then I make sure the seller is of good quality too.

i want it to look good first, then i look at price and reviews, it can look perfect but if it falls apart easy i dont want it, usually with etsy i am not vey concerned with shipping times
usually it is the product that catches my eye first and then i like to look at the reviews the seller has. i think if you have good reviews and a nice looking product then the price doesnt always matter cause im willing to pay more for good product and good customer service over anything else.

First, photos. I"m not going to buy something I don't like the appearance of. Having multiple photos so I can see multiple angles and colors (if applicable) is helpful. Second, price. I'm not going to buy something if its expensive no matter how much I like it. Customer reviews may influence me to take a chance on something I'm on the fence about, or make me not buy something if there are multiple bad experiences or if sizing runs large (if applicable). Shipping can be a big influence, if there's expensive shipping on a small/inexpensive item I will skip that item. Product description cna be helpful but doesn't usually sway a decision like photos do. Seller information is the last and least important thing I look at.

First I need the product to look like something I want, next the price has to be something I can afford. Good reviews help me parse out the sellers.
Honestly these are all important, but first and foremost I need to like the product so the photo followed by the description are key. I always read reviews as well, and I want to know about the seller. I am often buying as a gift, so shipping is next and price, while important, is last.
I like option A the best because for me seeing an image of the product is the first thing I look at when buying something online.

A and D are tied for first. You can't buy something without knowing what you're getting, right? F is next - I only buy from people who are actually creating the product. No buying from resellers of mass produced Chinese garbage. C is next. It's not just the reviews that matter, but how the seller responds to negative feedback. If a seller is argumentative, belittling, or otherwise rude to a negative comment I will not buy from them. Even if everything else is amazing, that one thing is a red flag and I don't reward petulance. B and E are important but not game changers. I pay for quality.
I Think the most important deciding factor for me is the product photo. It not only shows me the product, but I'm able to learn more about the quality and craftsmanship from the photo.

All of these are pretty important to me, but especially A, D, and C. The stuff relating directly to the product. But since I need a top pick, it'd be A. Since this is an online platform I want to see what I'm buying, and it had better be a good photo. Ideally multiple photos. If I can't see it I wouldn't buy it no matter how accurate the description is or how good the reviews are.
When buying on Etsy, I tend to be looking for something unique . I plan on spending a bit more, but I want to be sure that the product matches what I am looking for.

I usually look for a specific product and then look at the pictures and description. I then look at the reviews as well as the seller and what overall reviews they have.
I definitely want to see the product so I know what I am getting, and the more photos the better. I also want details in case I am not completely sure of what is in the photos. Shipping is also important because I want it to be reasonable and fair. Price is next because I want to pay the person for their time and materials and I will usually agree to it if I think it is fair. Customer reviews are next important since it will tell me what to expect and to be certain and assured I made the right choice. Seller information is as important as everything else but usually by the time I get the information I need from the other features, I have made my mind up and I usually just check seller information for any potential coupons.

I would group A and B together because they go hand in hand because if it is a good product photo the the price would seem to fit the optics I am looking at as this is the only visual information I have. D and F are also together as the seller's information will generally indicate how well the product description is written to bring attention to the customers so they can buy the product. C is next because the reviews do have some measure of influence on making a decision to buy the product as one too many bad reviews would deter one to invest in the product. E is last because if the product is excellent then one would buy it regardless of the shipping cost.
The product photos and product description are definitely the main items that influence my decision on whether or not I want to buy something. I need to be able to see what I'm buying and both of these give me a good idea. After that, I would check the price and shipping. If it's too expensive either in the cost or the shipping costs, I would probably look for other sellers. I think the reviews would be next as it's sometimes risky to buy from new sellers. The seller info would help me last to decide whether to buy or not. The seller info usually is to check if it "sounds" like a person instead of a generic statement that a fly-by-the-night seller might create.

Option B because I live below the poverty line and I can only afford what is the cheapest, unfortunately.
I choose options primarily based on price. If something is far out of my budget, I will not consider it, although I do have some flexibility. Next, I look at photos to see if the item is visually appealing to me. This makes a difference in how the item is staged at times, because some photos are more appealing than others simply because of the photography rather than the actual item itself. I next read the product description to get more details about the item in question such as size, materials, shape. Customer reviews are important to me to reveal details about customer satisfaction with the items and shop; this is particularly important when buying from individuals and handmade items as things may not always be as they appear in photos. The seller information is interesting to me, but not more so than the return policies, in case of an issue with a product not being as advertised, and the shipping policies, as I may often need something in a time sensitive fashion.
Price is always the first place I look, followed by customer reviews.
Because I am comparing it to other similar products, price is the biggest deal for me when looking at Etsy items.

Price does matter, but it really is about the product. I'm also wanting to know if the seller is reliable. Price and product don't really matter if the seller can't deliver on what they're offering. So price, product and seller reliability are all equally important.
B is by far the most important as I do want the best deal possible. Next I look for photos and then read descriptions. Seller information is critical too to see if they are established or could be a scam. Customer reviews I rated near the bottom, I do read them but only consider them useful if they include photos. Lastly, shipping doesn't matter to me as long as it is reasonable and I consider that more a product of the price category.

I think the prices on Etsy are very competitive and appreciate that the products are always well described, documented and photographed. I also like how much customers vouch for the quality of their purchases.

I chose options C, D, F and A second, third, fourth and fifth because I value customer reviews, product descriptions and information about the seller more than the product photographs. I chose option E last because the shipping and return policies are not that important to me when I shop on Etsy.

Reason I think customer reviews is most important is because you know you'll be getting a good product and won't have to worry too much about it. Other than that price has to be good, and it's always great to have a good-looking photo of the product that you're getting.
it's important that the seller is reputable and reliable and that the product itself is of high quality.
Usually the ratings lead me the most whether or not to purchase something. Otherwise the price would be the second most.
I think customer reviews is the most important thing for me and customers photos of the product they receive. Those things influence me the most and would be the first thing I would look at before purchasing. If more people are purchasing the product with good reviews then I know it is a quality product. Price would be the second thing to influence my decision.
More than other websites, customer reviews are crucial on etsy. It's the only real way that I can get an idea of the quality of the products because they are not coming from an established brand.

C ,first and foremost to me is what others have experienced in a potential product. The price and visual appearance can easily be faked online. The more reviews a product has the better.

The products themselves are the most important things. No matter what the price, or how much I like the seller, if the product doesn't appeal to me, there's no point in buying it.
I would go with option D because it sounds the most relatable and personal to me. Option A, C, and B are also very intriguing to me. Option E and F do not compel me as much overall.
I prefer option D the most because it gives me the best idea if the product would be right for me.
I put the product description first because obviously I need to know some information about whatever it is to make sure it's actually what I want before I consider anything else. Price second because I have a limited budget. Photos third because they help me see exactly what I'm buying and visualize using it for its purpose. Customer reviews fourth because I always look at and consider them, but I know they can be biased or fake sometimes. Seller info fifth because I don't always look at it but sometimes it's helpful to determine the seller's reputation. Shipping and return last because I rarely return things and I don't think about shipping much unless it's outrageously expensive.

I look at things to purchase based in this order. if the shipping is outragous I don't even botehr looking at anything else in the page.
Seeing a seller with bad return policies or slow shipping speeds makes me less likely to buy. Price is a huge factor as well, along with images that don't make me think I'm going to get a subpar service or product.
I want to make sure I am getting a good product at a good price. The seller information is not that valuable to me.
I always look at shipping first, because I have found that it can take a really long time to get products delivered.

I care most about the artist/seller and if I like them or not. I also care about the actual product and what it is.
A seller's reputation is most important. Just like any other online purchase. I need to know the seller is reputable and trustworthy before making a purchase.
Its all about reliable sellers. Just like Ebay, as long as they deliver what they say, when they say, that's what I care about, so I just want their information. That makes me more confident.
I like to know about the creator of the product so I can see what motivates them to create.
A good seller reputation is pretty influential in my decision. I can usually forgo the price as long as I'm certain the product is something I want and it comes from a reliable seller.
