I wanted to buy a Playstation 5 but I think shortages will prevent me from doing so
Im concerned about hardware shortages like GPUs or Video Game Consoles, because of the bottlenecks currently affecting us.
With the supply chain and inflation being an issue, there is a huge lapse in getting stuff. I have been on a waitlist for 8 months for a computer, and it was just extended into q2 of next year.
Gaming shortages have been bad all year, I think it'll get a lot worse when the holidays bring a surge in demand.
I'm a little bit concerned because I've been experiencing product shortages already when it comes the computer parts. I'm not that concerned when it comes to computer games because everything is on the digital platform pretty much.
It's already getting pretty hard to find things. I am concerned that I won't be able to get what my kids want for Christmas because of all of the ships stuck in California.
I am not worried about games because they are mostly digital now and cannot be shorted. However I am concerned with any hardware I may want because with the chip shortages some products are difficult to find.
I'm concerned in the sense that I think these shortages are mainly going to be reflected in the price of things. GPUs and that kind of hardware are ridiculously overpriced at the moment, or maybe that's just what they'll always be worth, but I feel like it's only something I'm worried about in the sense I'm not going to get my money's worth.
I am extremely concerned as I wanted to purchase another gaming pc for my household. Any 20 and 30 series cards are all back ordered and marketed upwards by $500 minimum. A 3060 should cost $400, and now it sells for $600-700. Not only the graphic card issues, but with gaming monitors, CPU's, it's getting harder and harder to find these items for reasonable prices without going to scalpers unfortunately.
There are already shortages in this area and when people start trying to buy holiday gifts I imagine it will only get much worse.
I am concerned because a lot of products just aren't available right now
For hardware, yes. The current crypto boom is ruining computer hardware prices and things have already been in short supply (GPU specifically). Games, no.
Above the details are about the computer games and hardware for the holiday season and get a information know it. A product shortage are very valuable.
Hardware specifically has me very concerned as any place that seems to get high-demand stuff is sold out within a minute or less. It feels next to impossible to get new PC hardware and some of these consoles (Like the playstation 5) because of scalpers as well.
i am concerned because very many people are shopping getting ready for the holidays, but i am happy about the offers
I am very concerned and think it might be tough times ahead.
I am very concerned this year about product shortages. Supply chains are still a mess and we do not know what is going to happen with COVID
I feel that there will not be much due to the shipping shortage.Shortage of chips and just how big the demand will be.
every year prices spike because toys/games get sold out and with the shortages this year could be worse
I am not concern because I am not going to buy anything gaming related for this year.
I have no concerns I have already got the games and a ps5 last year so I am set for a couple of years. I buy most of my games digitally anyways.
I buy most of my games digitally. Meaning there are no shortages. But even physical releases, I've never ever - even once - gone to the stone and found that they've been out of the game I wanted. It is a total non-concern to me.
I am pretty concerned because everything I've heard says there will be product shortages on pretty much everything
I feel like due to Covid there will be a lot less production going on so things will sell out quicker. I'm really worried cause I have my eyes on a few items but I feel like they will sell out and won't restock as quickly
I'm not worried at all, I buy games that are digital purchases so that shouldn't be an issue
I am because I am hearing about the chip shortage. It is affecting all industries.
I'm pretty concerned since COVID has obviously caused product supply to be all over the map and I'm concerned I won't be able to get the gifts I want.
Most games I buy would be digital and I don't need any new gaming gear and, additionally, nobody I'd be buying things for are gamers. All my gaming friends I know online so, again, I'd just be buying digital for them.
I'm not so concerned because I'm not planning on buying those things. I'm sure it will affect others more than it will affect me, though.
I am not looking to buy games, and if I do, the ones I want to buy will be in stock
Most of what I get in this area is digital, game wise, so it is hard to have a shortage there without it being completely artificial. Physical good wise, I have more concern, but not much due to not being too picky with what I get.
I'm not too worried about product shortages for computer games because a lot of games can be obtained via digital download. I get a lot of my games through Steam and Epic Games store now. As for gaming hardware, my current setup works so I'm not very worried.
I'm moderately concerned but not anywhere near as bad as I was 2020. I feel that most supply shortages have been accounted for, but a spike is what I think could cause a disruption.
I am very concerned about product shortages specifically related to gaming hardware. The chip shortages have been impacting my ability to buy a next gen gaming system for the entire year. Games, I'm not concerned about as they are mostly downloaded these days.
For games, I am not concerned as they are always available to be purchased and if games are delayed there are plenty of suitable alternatives. However, in regards to gaming hardware, this is definitely a problem due to the pandemic which has created shortages in hardware especially video cards. This is bad timing especially for people wanting to build a new computer.
I'm very concerned about hardware as it's hard to find any higher end products at the moment with all the issues surrounding the supply chain
I am not too concerned about games because I plan to get digital versions. I would be concerned about hardware shortages.
I'm definitely concerned. The entire pandemic has seen a rise in both demand and "scalping". I've already noticed stocks on certain things taking a hit the last couple weeks headed into the holidays. The only saving grace for me is that I already have most of the stuff I want.
i'm not concerned because there is no gaming hardware i want to buy. Also shortages on computer games are virtually non-existent.
I am not concerned at all as I have everything that I need and buying games is not a problem.
Not too concerned unless you want until the last minute
i am slightly concerned with product shortages but i can always find an alternative gift for my family
I am not concerned at all. The stuff I usually buy never really has shortage issues.
I've been concerned about GPU shortages since the RTX 3000 series launched. I have a 1070 with a water cooler on it and I skipped the 2000 series as it wasn't enough of a jump at the time, thinking I'd get a 3070 or so at launch. I have been unable to find them or the 3070 TI for MSRP since launch and I refuse to pay a huge markup to scalpers--and unfortunately, I don't think it will change. Fortunately, I can live with rsome reduced graphical options and my 1070 can keep up with most games .
I think it will be difficult to find the things I want this year, and that is going to make the holidays very difficult.
I'm not too concerned as I'm not planning to buy anything related to gaming at the moment. Though I will look out.
I'm very concerned because there will be some really decent sales and I would like to finally get an PS5, but they sell out so quickly because of the shortage.
I wanted to buy a PS4 but it's surprising to me that it's still in short supply and when a new shipment comes it sells out almost instantly, so this worries me the most.
I'm not concerned at all. I don't believe in any shortages and I believe there will be enough for everyone.
I am a bit concerned but I do think that at the end of the day, I am hopefully going to get my items within a semi reasonable amount of time. I am less concerned for myself but just gifts for others. At the same time though, I think people understand so while not ideal, it is not the end of the world
I am very concerned I have yet to be able to pay a Xbox and have been trying snice march. I feel like this Christmas is going to be rough.
I don't intend on purchasing a new game system during the holidays this year.
I'm a patient gamer. There aren't many games where I can't wait for a sale or restock. As for hardware, I'm okay with waiting as well, unless something of mind breaks.
The main issues right now are that some individual computers might be out of stock or hard to buy. This is because companies like AMD are focussing thier limited manufacturing capacity. So there is product shortages.
I am very concerned. A year after their release, things like Xbox and PlayStation's are still in very short supply. So are controllers and games and graphics cards. And I don't think tjr shortages are gonna get better
I am not concerned about shortages because the stuff I like is older and I can just get it on ebay.
I'm fairly concerned in terms of staffing and supply shortages for this holiday season
I feel that I am not that worried about it, because all of the things that I want are easily found and not hard to get. I also feel that I have different connections with people who could help me get or sell me something if I could not find it.
i think it could greatly affect what I could get, so yes, I am concerned
It has been hard to get anything tech related for over a year now and I don't see that improving anytime soon.
I have a big catalogue of games I have yet to play and am not in a strong need for parts to upgrade.
I do need a few things so I don't think it will be that much of an issue.
Obviously it's still impossible to get a next gen console, but it has been all year. Aside from that, I'm not worried about shortages for anything else at all. It'll all be available.
I was hoping to get a new laptop this year and would be bummed if there were none in stock when it came time to buy.
I am not very concerned about video games because most can be obtained digitally. When it comes to hardware, I have seen some systems with high end video cards but I feel like the shortage is actually better now than it was earlier in the year.
I am very concerned about the product shortage which has ben brought upon by the high demand.
I'm not that concerned. I will eventually get what I want
I think hardware might be a problem, but I am only planning on getting games, most of which can be purchased digitally without needing any materials that could be affected by shortages
I am a gamer and I have seen no indication of charges when it comes to video games so far so it does not concern me
I know there are shortages, but luckily I have most of the things I would want already.
I've been on the lookout for gaming consoles, and everywhere I go and also look online everything is always sold out.
I am aware of the global chip shortage and I'm very concerned that the holiday rush will put an even greater strain on the manufacturers.
I think that most games that I purchase now are directly downloaded to my console because that way I don't have to worry about disks getting scratched or broken. I am slightly concerned that I may not be able to purchase controllers or headsets in time for Christmas, but I already have working hardware, so I could just wait until after Christmas.
The consumer lifestyle of America has made this life hard for everyone. A situation like this is not okay if you want to help keep people satisfied
I am not concerned at all about shortages of games (I buy most games on Steam). I do have some concern about gaming hardware (specifically computer parts). It does not affect me much as I've recently purchased new parts, but I know that it could have a more negative impact on others.
Extremely concerned especially since there was already a shortage of hardware early-on in the pandemic.
I am not in the market for any gaming hardware. My son plays games, but they can all be downloaded. Instead of a wrapped gift, we can give him a gift card and download the game.
Yea it is going to be hard to find any kind of hardware this year. I would have to start searching now and hold it until Christmas if that was the case.
I'm already seeing shortages on physical hardware, meaning when demand jumps up as people look for gifts, it's only going to get even harder to find things I want or need. I'm not too worried about software like games, as most of it is digital anyways. Peripherals are constantly out of stock, though, and what I do find seem to be of poorer quality than usual.
I was planning to get my girlfriend a 3000 series nvidia card but I'm almost certain I won't be able to buy/afford one. The shortages are going to make a weird christmas where I give out a lot of cash instead of gifts.
There have been product shortages of computer components, graphics cards an other things. Prices of available purchases have also gone up. I am concerned about both price and quantity available of any hardware and tangible goods, and prices for downloads.
The prices for GPU's are already high, I worry that it will sell out again and prices will once again increase
I think there will be general shortages because there are lots of new games and systems coming out for the holidays - I think COVID financial impacts may lessen this though as many people have lost income and may not be able to afford these luxuries.
I don't have plans to buy hardware, so I'm not that worried there. I do plan to gift some games, and I like to give physical copies, but it's not a huge worry as I know there is always a back up of a digital copy.
I am not overly concerned at this point. While I have heard of some supply chain issues, I feel that these things will get worked out. It's possible that there could be some delays, but, ultimately, I believe those will only be temporary.
gaming hardware shortages are a real problem right now, and I'd really like to be able to afford to fix my pc if anything goes wrong
I feel like with games, you can just get unlimited copies online, so that isn't a big deal, computer hardware, a little, but there's so many places to buy them online that it isn't that big of a deal to me
GPUs are impossible to purchase these days at MSRP. I've basically given up at this point.
I'm a little worried that there may be shortages since I've seen shortages everywhere else. I want to ensure stuff is in stock because I'm planning on getting gaming related stuff for family.
Extremely concerned. Everything is going to be ridiculously expensive and nothing is going to be available.
Keep hearing about supply shortages for chips and other products and not being able to buy certain new technology items when I have wanted to. Intel, AMD, and Nvidia CEO's have all mentioned the chip shortage lasting until 2022-2023
I'm mostly unconcerned about any ongoing product shortages going into the holiday season mainly because I don't plan on buying any physical versions of games (for anyone else or myself), but also am not really planning to buy any games or their corresponding parts (like physical gear needed to run or play the games, etc) for anyone else due to their high pricing on average anyway. But I did rate this concern a 2 instead of just a 1 because I might still buy myself my own gift for the holidays in the form of a new upgraded system (like: a console or a VR set or something physical, unlike the games that can be purchased totally digitally), so my rating of 2 mostly comes from hoping to get myself an upgraded system for the year, but the speed of receiving it isn't super important to me, thus, a 2.
I'm not too concerned. I've waited this long, I can wait a little longer.
I don't really care if I can't get a particular game or system, there's always another one I can get.
I have no plans for buying any hardware this year, but if I wanted to, I’d definitely be worried. Scalpers and crypto miners are still snatching up every graphics card they can, and with the chip shortage it’s making it next to impossible to get one unless you’re willing to pay a ridiculous markup, and I definitely wouldn’t be willing to do so.
I am not at all concerned. I keep hearing news about various shortages, but at no point have I ever actually witnessed any shortages in a store
I am not currently concerned about hardware shortages as I am not in a position to be upgrading my own hardware nor do I have someone to gift said hardware to whom would be in need. As far as games themselves go, stored on Hard Drive is kinda the best way to consume media imo. Mechanical hard drives are pretty cheap and most games do not need to access disk outside of loading screens (online play limited throttled to the weakest link anyway).I haven't been particularly impressed by the TV-Game-Console market in a few generations; but as far as years for shortages to be happening, this one's kind of ideal as it doesn't affect me.
I think the main concern would be with the game hardware, not the actual games. There is still a shortage of ps5's since last year. There seemed to be plenty of games available. Especially since people didn't have consoles to play them on.
Gaming and video games are not our family’s primary source of fun or entertainment. We mainly watch tv or travel, so if we cannot buy new games and consoles it won’t be the end of the world. I also don’t think people will be hoarding video games
I am very concerned which is I bought my new PS5 and some games already in October. I am also considering purchasing games online because of the delivery issues.
Most of the games that I want have digital releases, so I don't need to worry about that. The only gaming console I want, and that I know other people want, is the PS5, and no one's ever been able to get it anyways, so, like, it's not going to break mine or anyone else's heart if you can't get one, that's just normal for the PS5.
It's been very difficult to find a lot of PC and gaming components over the last year. I'm trying to find a new 30 series graphics card for my husband for Christmas, and they've been incredibly hard to find. You have to have alerts set, be on the sites at the right time, and then just get lucky.
I'm not personally worried about shortages because I have everything I need already, thankfully. I do feel bad for those that have been wanting things and are unable to get them, though. Something needs to improve.
I am very worried because no one has anything to do and they are going to want to purchase things to occupy their time.
I am considerably concerned about hardware shortages. The 3070, 3080, and 3090 have been in such high demand and with the chip shortage, it will take even longer to acquire one.
I'm not planning on buying any hardware, but part of that is due to the chip shortage.
I am very concerned about product shortages especially the chip shortage that is causing problems with the supply chains. However, I also have prepared myself for possible delays and shortages and have done my holiday shopping early, so hopefully I won't be as affected.
It sucks that there has been such a terrible shortage on gaming related things. It's affected me because my friends have shown interests in things like building new PC's and buying a Nintendo Switch to play with me but they just can't because the shortages either make the items impossible to find or cost way more than they should.
I have heard about the shortages but there are no games or hardware that I really want this season, so I'm not too concerned.
I am fairly concerned because there is a supply shortage issue with most of the market.
I am not concerned at all, there will be a lot of stock of everything and a lot of things are digital and once it is digital it will not sell out. The only things to be worried about are things that are already out of stock like PS5s and GPUs
I'm not too concerned because for the most part there are plenty of online retailer that would carry enough items that would be sufficient enough for me to buy either as gift or upgrade my own rig. I don't try or need to get the best items. Also, I don't procrastinate. Therefore, from now till the holiday season I would be looking for things I want to buy. There are discounts everywhere and I know a good deal when I see one. So I am not that concerned at all.
I’m not concerned at all — frustrated, maybe, because I hate that the supply chain has been so impacted and I wish that chips hadn’t all been swept up in crypto mining, but because I can’t control what will and won’t be available, I choose not to worry about it. I have a gaming computer that’s good enough for now and several different consoles, so that helps, too — I already have so much gaming stuff that I can stay calm when there are shortages.
I am a little concerned because I know there is a chip shortage and everyone will be trying to get consoles and games as gifts for their friends and family. It's ideal to get a headstart.
I'm not concerned, but that's only because I don't plan on buying any gaming products this holiday season.
I am not too concerned at all because I have acquired all the things that i've needed so far that I feel could be hard to find. Mainly the gaming hardware were things that I already got. The games themselves can be downloaded if anything so that will not be a problem for me.
I am very concerned that the items I am looking for will be in short supply or will not be available in stores. I am aware of reports of the shipping supply chain slowed by bottlenecks.
I would really love to get my hands on a PS5, though I don't think they'll ever be in stock. I wanted to get one for my girlfriend last year as a gift, but I couldn't find one. I really doubt I'll be able to this year either. For computer games, I probably won't see too many shortages. One of the many reasons I prefer playing on PC: digital downloads are easy.
I am very concerned about being able to get gaming accessories, not so much games. Hardware is going to become hard to come by.
I am aware there are many problems causing product shortages for gaming PCs and consoles, and am concerned for those trying to obtain the products. Hardware components in general are getting harder and harder to find, so I think there will be major shortages. I, myself, however, am not in the market to purchase anything new this year and will not likely be impacted by these problems.
The vast majority of computer games are available digitally, so a product shortage in that area would be beyond ludicrous. As far as hardware goes, there are always delays and shortages when it comes to new systems and hardware and with general shortages and waits all over due to the pandemic, I would be surprised if there weren't so it's not very concerning at all.
I am not very concerned because the market is very well supplied and offers a large variety of computer games and gaming hardware especially for the holiday season. One just should not wait for the last minute to buy.
I am not too concerned except for a hardware component like a graphic card that may have a shortage of supply.
Supply chain issues might make getting a graphics card hard
I know graphic cards are now expensive which increases the prices of a gaming computer which doesn't help to get a computer that matches all games requirements. I was thinking about to build a new gaming computer but I will get opinion from a relative that has more knowledge about hardwares
It seems everything is running short now, inlcuding PCs, etc. I am concerned I won't be able to play as much with my friends
This year I am not after anything that is too rare, so I am not concerned. However, in the past I have been very aware of how rare it is to find certain systems around this time
I am not planning on buying anything in particular, but I will be seeing what goes on sale, but I am concerned that there will not be as big of a discount on some electronics such as gaming systems and computer monitors and other peripherals. This may be due to product shortages or other reasons. I am not sure why there are going to be shortages anyway. I am not too concerned, because like I said before I was not needing anything or planning on a specific purchase.
Because there are lots a vacant people who will play on holiday which shorten the product because people will buy it and it's more fun too that's why there are lots of people buying on that product. And it will help also on earning some money and other stuff in online.
I am very concerned about availability of all types of products, but I think the shortage will have the greatest impact on electronics. Even last year, some items were hard to find, so I think this year may be even worse - I have already begun to think of alternative gifts I could give.
I'm not that concerned because I don't plan on buying much of that stuff for other people at Christmas. I normally purchase those products for myself and I can wait until they're available. I don't necessarily need them at Christmas.
I can't afford to buy them and I am not going to stress about something I can't afford nor if I could, having to be the one that gets one. I don't need the latest console to be happy. My things work just fine and I'm happy to get a previous version if needed.
I worry less because I know there WILL be hardware shortages this year, so I don't plan to try to purchase anything. Mostly GPU's.
I'm worried about my holidays being ruined by this
Definitely concerned, there has been an increase in the computer chip shortages. With the extra purchases around the holidays, this is only expected to increase.
I haven't found a next gen game system or a graphics card all year, and i've been looking. Families looking for electronics and next gen gaming systems will have a hard time this holiday season.
My decision is somewhat misleading, as while the product shortages are serious. (I work in freight transportation so this is 100% what I deal with professionally every day). I say my choice is misleading because in reality, hardware and games are NOT on my radar for this holiday season, as I already expect supply to not be available. I have children and they have the latest gaming *hardware* so, that is not a market I have to compete with. Software (even physical) hasn't been a problem. Now for people my age, (42) You have the conflict between PC hardware shortages, scalpers (I also run a small crypto farm so I understand the problem with explosive price gouging for hardware) and out right shipping/production shortages. + inflation giving upwards price pressure as well. That is a SERIOUS concern of mine. Not because of the crypto, but just for people trying to replace hardware at a fundamental level. I've written this holiday season off, and potentially 2022 as well as globally, we still have issues with vaccine availability for Covid etc.. and I think it will still take additional time for the supply chains to work themselves out. Barring any geo-political disruptions which I fear is going to become an issue in SE Asia..
We've had chips shortages forever now, and it's finally getting better. I'm not too worried about games, since most can be downloaded.
yes, there is a hardware shortage because TMC, the computer chip manufacturer cannot meet demand. The games themselves will remain plentiful.
It's a fact that shortages are at the highest we've seen in decades due to our disorganization of reopening the economy after a pandemic and chip shortages which now is used in majority of our products.
Very concerned. there is not even lemon jello on the shelves right now. we have bought thanksgiving dinner 2+ weeks in advance due to shortages.
I do not have a pressing need for any new hardware this season, but I do know that there is a shortage, and I have had friends who have been frustrated to no end about it.
I am concerned as new gaming systems have not been available in retail stores for over two years. I believe I wont be able to purchase them this coming holiday season.
I am worried about shortages but mainly the fact that they are due to people panic buying and trying to get things early. This will stress supply lines for the next few months.
The shipment problems are really bad. I'm sure this will persist throughout the holiday season which will cause problems.
I'm on the high side of concerned about shortages. There have been so many news stories about the jammed-up shipping ports and waterways, which means lots of merchandise just sitting there instead of in stores, including high-demand computer games and gaming hardware. In addition, it seems as if lots of truck drivers are not working, which means the products won't get moved where they need to go. And of course, so many people have died from Covid, which means drastic reductions to people working including truck drivers, stockers, port workers, etc. So, it seems very likely that all products, including video games and hardware, will be harder to get in a high-demand holiday season this year. I do think it's possible that some mega-companies have had the time to plan ahead and may have stock in their warehouses already, and the general public just doesn't know it yet. Or, perhaps right now they're using their massive amounts of cash to pay people handsomely to go get their products and distribute them. So, it's possible mega-retailers will have products, but other companies without the available money will not. That's why I picked 4 out of 5 stars. Thanks and good luck w/ your research!
I do not like shortages, as they require me to pay more or put off purchases. However, I will probably not buy much this season, so I can live with it. I will just be cheap and wait for prices to go back down.
Shortages are already here, i am not looking for anything so im not personally concerned but if i wanted to get a part for someone i would order now or before.
I am pretty concerned about shortages because I would like to buy a Playstation 5 and they have essentially been near impossible to get due to scalpers, bots, and other things. You have to make it a priority and focus to even get a chance of getting one, which is very challenging to do when you work.
I have to admit that I'm quite mad that there are still shortages in the latest generation of consoles about a year after the original release. However, I've mostly come to terms with this, and will just focus on giving the gamers I know digital downloads of games, particularly those that come with the option to download both the current and next-gen versions. The good thing about modern games is that most of them you can just download, so you don't have to worry about physical products running out.
I'm already having issues trying to find an affordable replacement for my graphics card and processor. I can't imagine how much more expensive they will be during the holidays. I'm slightly holding out hope for Black Friday, but it's so ridiculous. On top of the shortages, the scalpers are first in line.
I'm very concerned, especially with newer consoles like the ps5 and new revisions like the Switch OLED model. Another problem I think most people aren't thinking about is going to be the lack of accessories like controller. Last year there was a huge shortage on Nintendo joycons or pro controllers so anyone getting a new console couldn't get an extra controller at all unless it was a cheapo 3rd party.
I was not really concerned about shortages for gaming items this year, I do have a much smaller budget for xmas spending, so I will be buying less pricey things. When games are first released they cost soo much more, it is better to buy them later on when they are cheaper.
I am not really concerned because I tend to be an early shopper and like to be done before the holiday rush hits.
It has been nearly impossible to find a ps5 or Xbox series x that isn't marked up and scalped at outrageous prices due to the chip shortage and high demand.
I know that the various components that go into tech have been hit especially hard/in an additive manner. Computers and computer components are already extremely short.
I am pretty concerned given the supply chain issues with items such as electronics
I do not think there will be a product shortage on that because there's a lot of people right now who don't have a lot of money to be buying stuff like that we're spending the extra money on things like that.
I am concerned about product shortages, but don't mind waiting. The longer you wait the more access you get to newer, more powerful hardware releases.
With the shortages, especially of graphics cards, I am concerned. I am in the process of finishing out a computer build and am waiting for a decent deal on a graphics card at the moment. I am concerned about the containers from China not getting into the US as well.
I'm very concerned. I wanted to upgrade my PC prior to the launch of Endwalker (Nov 23) but I couldn't find cards that were good enough that weren't nearly the cost of an entire computer. My PC is getting to the point where it is just barely able to handle the newest stuff, but I'm going to try to hold out longer in the hopes prices and supply stabilize.
I'm very concerned not necessarily for myself, but for my family and others that are currently looking for Xbox One X/S and PS5 for the holidays but still can't find them. I feel like kids around the world are going to be disappointed this year due to these kinds of shortages.
I don't really buy those kinds of gifts so I am not concerned.
I am not in the least concerned because i only buy digital games nowadays. If I was in the market for a system I think i would be concerned and probably start shopping early.
Game hardware has been hard to find for awhile now so not really different. Computer games just suck now at launch.
Although I do realize there probably will be many product shortages and it may be difficult to get certain items, I am not very worried about it because I consider these purchases as "luxury" and are bonuses. If I'm not able to pick up a particular item, then it will not be a big issue.
I think this will be one of the items that is most impacted by storages, etc. I foresee not being able to buy this item for the holidays.
I think covid has created a shortage in so many things such as food, gas and even gaming equipment. I hear if you want to build your own gaming computer parts such as ram, graphic cards and memory sticks are hard to find now. Even prebuilt computers are hard to find. Not to mention gaming consoles immediately sell out.
Not concerned about software because everything is downloadable. I am concerned about hardware shortages caused by the supply chain bottlenecks
Seriously so worried. It's already a problem with the gaming systems I can't find a ps 5 I waited 12 weeks for my new car to come in with the chip shortage. The shortage is real and it's here.
I think the hardware might be a little harder to come by but not the games. Definitely not a huge concern if you ask me. Think it's not bad for the video game industry but will affect other industries more.
I have no need for computer hardware right now, but I would be concerned about the availability of accessories like mouses and keyboards since others will want to upgrade.
I know that there will be shortages, but I don't plan on buying any new hardware, and games that I want I'll be downloading, so I think it'll be fine for me, personally.
I am undecided. I have lived through Y2K and toilet paper apocolypse. I am not sure how real or bad the shortages are
I probably would buy a video card if I could find one easily.
I figure the prices will be too high so I won't buy until they come down anyway.
I've been on a waiting list with EVGA for 8 months trying to get a video card. This needs to be fixed post-haste. Peripherals and other hardware is mostly available though but you can't build a gaming PC without a good GPU.
im very concerned, ive been trying to get a ps5 and xbox X since last year and still have not. i think its going to be just as bad this holiday season
I am because I worry about getting presents on time for people and I want a new camera and lens and I worry about it affecting that.
Pretty much everything has been out of stock when it comes to gaming hardware this year and people are price gouging out of control. I am not expecting to buy any hardware this year so it won't affect me too greatly, but where one shortage exists there are sure to be more.
I have two teenage sons that are gamers. We are fortunate that they are not asking for new hardware for Christmas. If something was to break that would prevent them from playing, and we supply issues caused us to not be able to fix/replace the item, we would be concerned. They download all of their games digitally, so from a game perspective the only supply issue we would be concerned with would be game developers debuting their new games as scheduled.
Big problem with shortages is even if you can find the product you want, the price is usually much higher than it should be.
I am extremely concerned about product shortages for components because of the price related to them. Chips are the center of everything and these things are not cheap as is.
I can't find what I want online or in stores.
Extremely concerned as it is still hard to find pcs and components for a fair price if any are available at all. Games not so much as they are generally widely available.
Due to the microchip shortages, i feel like there will be some shortage, but it would not affect me too much. There is only one product im purchasing in this category, and they have plenty in stock.
It is very important for me because this gonna deside my holiday free time going to boring or not.
There is already a set limit of items available every year. This year is definitely going to be worse with everything becoming harder to find. Especially with ships being stuck out in the water waiting to be unloaded. It is making everything even more expensive.
There are shipping problems caused by covid (lack of people leading to delays in shipping/unloading/etc) and also some problems due to geologic events.
I am not concerned at all with gaming hardware shortages because they are products that are not necessary to live. These days computer games can be digitally bought even though I prefer physical versions.
I think it is VERY likely. Products are hard to come by.
I'm not worried about product shortages for games because I can always buy those online and usually do buy them online as downloads which are unlimited, while hardware I'm not really in the market for at the moment but if I was, I would be at least a bit concerned about it, hence the 2 rating.
I think if I order any gaming hardware that I can order it far enough in advance that I won't have to worry about whether there is a shortage. I buy all of my computer and console games digitally so I don't have to worry about a shortage of those since there is no physical product.
I am quite concerned about hardware shortages. I have been trying to get a gaming console and it have had no luck, thanks to the shortages. I do not foresee this changing before the holiday season is over.
I am a little concerned because my experience lately gives me reason. It took me 9 months of trying to actually get a PS5. A a collector edition game I wanted to preorder sold out in an hour.
Considering the ridiculous prices today, I am concerned about product shortages. My local stores have notices in their windows warning customers of product shortages and have increased their prices on their current stock. It's a bit of a nightmare to be honest.
I don't buy too many computer games or hardware. I think there might be a shortage, but there's already been a hardware shortage due to crypto mining. Most computer games can be purchased digitally, which won't have any type of shortage.
I'm moderately concerned becuase I was thinking about getting updates for PC's. Due to the coronavirus, I know that there has been chip shortages which has caused some prices of graphics cards to skyrocket. Some of the more higher end stuff is going for double the normal prices, and I do not forsee it coming down or coming back in stock anytime soon. When it comes to regular run of the mill gaming tech, I would not be very concerned.
I am not too concerned. Most of my family and friends are understanding of the shortage problem. We all usually wait for new tech anyway. We like to get the best deals. I've been sticking to local shops this year anyway.
I am not too concerned. I think this year is just going to be like every year when it comes to deals. Although there may not be as many units available due to the supply chain issue, I do not think it will be too big of a problem.
