This ecommerce business may be very effective rather than the other option.
Currently, all I really know is Amazon. If there are other e-commerce sites and businesses I should know about, I wont know about them unless they advertised. As annoying as advertisements may be, they are still useful to pass along information.
The marketing could be relevant to me in something I like or use. It shows to me what products or services the company is offering. If they don't do any marketing, then I'm less likely to know about the company, or be interested in it.
marketing is fine nothing wrong with it
I think it’s reasonable for them to make an effort to market me as it shows a commitment.
E-commerce businesses should make an effort to market their products or services to me.
Yes, I support this notion. I like to be loyal to a company -- but they have to provide some value for my patronage.
I think that E-commerce businesses should make an effort to market their products or services to me because that is the main way that I find/hear about new products that I might be interested in purchasing.
I honestly like how my likes and interests are tracked that way I get ads for things I actually would be interested in; I'm going to be seeing ads no matter what and my information is out there, so it might as well be used in a productive manner.
Option A is selected because the option interferes with my personal opinion.
I like getting information on things I may buy.
I'd prefer they do so I can keep track of who offers what rather than just not knowing.
I'm fine being marketed to, I can discover new things that way. Just don't sell my information to other people.
I agree with this a business should reach out to everyone online and offer their products or wisdom online. It is a great way for them to answer questions that thier customers and future customers have
I think marketing is a good business strategy. If a company doesn't market their products and services then I may not even be aware of what products or services I am missing out on. We call that leaving money on the table.
Generally I don't like being bombarded by marketing, but if it's a product that I actually like and have a want for, I would want to know about it to make an informed purchase.
I choose A because the customers are deserved the best service
They should market to me in that I know they are around and will provide a service when I need it.
I think that like all of us they have jobs too and have to earn a living. I think its fine for them to make their pitches and its fine for you to ignore them.
I don't mind e-commerce business marketing their products and services to me because it allows me to know about products and services that may be valuable to me.
I want to see what new promos they have to share and what they're willing to do to acquire/ keep a customer.
Every business needs to make profit and marketing is obviously a big factor for many; however, there always needs to be a fine-line and a placed threshold that companies should not pass where it just becomes absolutely obnoxious and harassment.
I think companies need to make an effort to show how their products/services can be useful.
I would love to know about new products but not in a way that I would feel my privacy is being violated.
As long as they are selling me what I actually need to be successful in my business and to earn more revenue I'm fine with it
I think that as long as it is targeted towards a product or service that I would enjoy then marketing is very useful.
Sometimes I am looking to buy certain things and I love being able to find them easily due to be marketed to.
Option A describes me the best because it helps the business and the consumers
Any company that wants to make money should market to customers so no reason for e-commerce to be any different.
I think e commerce websites should make an effort to market their products and services to me since it would make me feel valued as a customer. It would also keep me updated with the new products/services.
i like to be targeted for my specific needs as it reduces time i have to seek things out
they definitely need to use marketing to get customers. Otherwise nobody would know about their services.
I feel like if they are able to market items I wouldn't normally be able to find in my normal shopping habits advertising is fine.
I'm not someone who shops a lot, so it's nice when I stumble onto something I would enjoy purchasing. I don't have a problem with marketing and think that it's necessary for business
I think that a company should market their products to me - especailly if they are a locally based E-commerce business because I like to buy local. As a result of that I like to pick up free weekly newspapers in my area that feature classfied ads and ads by local businesses. I am more likely to support an E-commercial business if they advertise in papers like this because that shows me that the business really wants to promote their products to me by also supporing local newspaper businesses by taking out ads with them.
I don't have a problem with it. Sometimes it's helpful to see an advertisement and to be reminded of a business.
I'm fine with them marketing towards me. Saves me time if it's something I will be interested in.
I dont feel bad about it, seems to be something a company is supposed to do.
I would prefer to see the e-marketing because I may not be aware of their products otherwise. I can choose to ignore them if they are something I do not want.
They should be able to find a way to market to me without constantly tracking me online.
I like it and think it just works overall
As long as the marketing is about information that I have allowed to be known and its not medically related, I do look forward to be asked or told about , new products and services that can help me!
I THINK THERE IS TOO MUCH MARKETING. I HATE THE CONSTANT EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS. IF I WANT A PRODUCT I WILL BUY IT
I'm a fan of not being marketed to, but I can see how it's necessary for the businesses to attract and keep customers.
All I need is for the product to be good. I'll find the product if it's good and I need it.
Feel free to email me when you have a big yearly sale but otherwise I don't want any regular communication.
I already know what I want but some ideas now and again wouldn’t hurt.
I find them to be intrusive and very annoying.
I would prefer not to be marketed to if possible since I do not like being spammed or pressured, but I understand why they do it of course.
If I need to engage in e-commerce or need related services, I will seek out a company. I hate direct marketing whether it is for my business or personal. I think marketers are always unwanted for any situation.
I hate being marketed to
I get sick of constantly seeing ads for things I'm not even interested in and wonder why I'm even being shown this. It's annoying.
I hate getting bombed with ads all the time. It's awful. They can market, but I hate when it's specific to me all the time.
I don't really care for advertising and marketing, if I want something I'll seek it out myself.
I'm not that susceptible to advertising in general and I don't think e-commerce businesses should bother with me.
Most marketing approaches (emails, etc.) annoy me and make it more likely I *won't* buy from the company.
I don't really put much thought into them marketing towards me. I feel like I'll look for things if I have an interest in them. I don't need ads telling me what to buy.
I prefer the option B message because I am not interested in being marketed to and feel that electronic commerce businesses have no business in marketing things to me because I can find things quite efficiently online already.
I'm pretty good at finding useful services without needing marketing help!
To me, their marketing is irritating and invasive. If I want something, I will search for it myself without prompting from an e-commerce company.
I want to use a company because I need their services, not buy something because they want me to.
I chose B because I don't want companies to market to me specifically. People are so different out there that I don't want them just to focus on me and what I want.
Unless I need something from there, I dont open marketing emails
I hate marketing of any kind towards me
I would rather look for a product at a time I want to.
I get enough marketing and it usually drives me away rather than closer.
I dont like being marketed to.
Option B too much marketing and feels like I am being tracked.
I hate it and feel like they are way to pushy
I have adblockers and block all 3rd party cookies and never stay signed into anything for a multitude of reasons, this being one of them.
I chose choice B since it isn't appealing to get direct messages and ads which are an inconvenience. Choice A is fine but not ideal.
I don't want to be marketed to me
I don't like being marketed to because I start feeling bombarded and overwhelmed. I feel like they try to influence my decisions and I don't like it.
I chose option B because I find targeted marketing to be annoying and intrusive.
I do not really want to be marketed to but I understand why they do it.
I want to be informed that a service or good or company exists, but I do not want to be actively marketed to, as it irritates me to no end.
I chose b because I do not like being marketed to
I prefer option B because I value my privacy and do not need products or services directed at me.
I don’t like all of the tracking they do. I don’t like seeing personal ads. I want to go back to some privacy
I am beyond sick of all the constant marketing and pushing services on me. I am fully capable of finding products on my own, I don't need them forced on me.
If i want to find a product I will, I do not need to be marketed to.
This plea makes so much sense because people do not want to be marketed to and a good marketer should not be doing so blantanly
i dont think it is necessary to market to people based off of ecommerce sites. i think that it could get annoying and some people could get upset by it.
I feel like if I want a service I will make the effort to look for and find the best deal. I don't like people reaching out to me and potentially wasting both of out time.
I find e-commerce marketing intrusive and annoying
If I'm in need of your service chances are I'll be searching for it on google or something, so for me your marketing budget is better spent on SEO than facebook ads
i feel intruded upon and it seems creepy
I chose B because online marketing usually involves some sort of invasion of privacy.
there are more than enough ads everywhere, i definately don't need more
I don't usually like attempts to be marketed to. It rarely works, most of the brands I buy from I ended up finding on my own, not from them coming to me first. Also, I don't like being marketed to because of the scummy practices often involved in doing so. IE, digital profiling and similar.
I don't need it or want it. No thanks!
I get enough through regular US mail and don't need anymore. I am not too sure about trusted E commerce.
I know that many companies do make an effort to market towards be but I don't like being marketed towards. I have enough things already.
I tend to stay away from e-commerce businesses due to previous experiences.
They must compete with each other but when one is looking for something; when they try to reach out all the time to make offers out of nowhere it can be a little overwhelming. I prefer to reach out myself when I want to buy something I need and they keep the good service and discounts for me to come back looking for the things I want with them first
I only buy products when I truly need/want them, so marketing only works when I am actively searching for a specific product.
Businesses can, of course, market to whoever they like, but I don't need it. I really don't need it. I'm tired of this way of life.
I already generally have an idea of what I want to buy and who to buy it from.
I am oversaturated with advertisements and material goods. I think we all need a lot less.
I could actually write a NOVEL on this subject. For one, I know how marketing uses psychology (note: Check out the series "A Century of Self" if you're interested in psychology and advertising. It's infuriatingly interesting!) and I feel used and abused by the advertising sector. It panders, it manipulates, it talks down to me. NO THANK YOU! For two, I have a huge amount of animosity towards business in general, and the fact that some make millions (or billions...or trillions...) while others work hard only to remain in poverty sickens me. And while poverty, pandemics, war, and environmental disaster rage on, you are trying to get me to pay attention to your useless crap? I couldn't care less about your product or service! If I need it, I will seek it out. If I don't need it, I don't need you trying to shove it down my throat like some wannabe Once-ler. (Nothing personal, btw. The "you" is the editorial you, not you in specific. :))
