My kids always leave the door open or don't shut it all the way.
It is a good idea, but not really something I would need.
I would be interested in the product as this will reduce the number of incidents whereby I leave my refrigerator open for long and forget about it, the reminder sounds a great deal in preserving food as required and minimizing electricity usage
I an retired and most always home, so sending me a text or message alert is overkill.
this isnt a problem in our house and our fridge already yells if you leave it open for more than 15 seconds, and repeatedly makes noise. but i suppose there are some with larger families that would be interested in this
Generally I would be able to tell. This seems like an overuse of my phone space. I would probably never use it.
This is a very good idea, it will help me save some money.
I would be interested depending on price. My grandson has the tendency to not get the freezer drawer shut on my refrigerator when he is getting ice cream.
This sounds like unnecessary complexity. A simple sensor and door alarm would work just as well.
i like that because there are times ive walked away and havnt closed it very well
Very interesting and it's very good idea for sure.
This will be of more help to me because children tend to open the refrigerator and leave it open sometimes which is not good for my food stuffs stored inside because the temperatures are interfered with hence can cause spoilage.
I think this would be very useful, as sometimes our daughter isn't always careful and doesn't shut the refrigerator properly. I think a text message or email alert would probably be the most helpful.
I am loving this idea. My wife just left the freezer cracked open and the whole freezer had to be thawed out.
I think this would be a wonderful and innovative idea, this is something that I would definitely be interested in.
my current refrigerator has this feature built in. It does not tie into my mobile device but provides a loud beep if the door is left open too long. However, if my frighted did not have this feature I would be very interested in something that notifies you
i think it is creative and genius, i think it would be effective.
Yes with young kids in the household I would love for it to alert me. I would hate to loose food on simple human error.
I think it could be helpful especially in homes where people have alzheimers. This could help their caregivers give them further independence and know that it needs to be closed. Would also be helpful for stoves.
I would definitely be interested in this product. Monitoring the doors on the refrigerator/freezer is a great idea. It would be especially helpful with children who often leave the doors open too long. This is a great option.
I once forgot that I had left my freezer door open (I have an extra freezer in my garage and I usually go in and out of my house to fetch items I need, but sometimes leave the door open so I can make multiple trips easily). I left the freezer door open for five hours and when I realized what happened a lot of things in the freezer already needed to be tossed, like a bag of warmed room temperature shrimp and a carton of ice cream. I would definitely want an alert to prevent this from happening again
my fridge already has one built in
I would be interested in this product because we have a used refrigerator and we are renters.
This would be awesome because sometimes the door doesn't get closed all of the way, especially when kids are involved. Obviously, the sooner you realize the door is open, the better. I would hate to come home or wake up to a fridge full of spoiled food.
I personally would not be interested due to my living arrangement with my family. A simple notification via sound from the actual device would be fine. Would I in a different living situation, like living with non-family members, I'd be more interested because I don't trust them as much.
Well my refrigerator currently starts beeping when the door has been open for over 30 seconds so not sure why I would need an app for it
That is handy. I would love a text message or other alert to go off on my phone for this situation. That would be great for the oven too!
My refrigerator already has this feature but it doesn’t alert me phone. That would be cool and useful.
I feel that this is a huge privacy and security risk. I do not want an automated or alert filled fridge. I have ADHD and rarely use alerts on normal things.
This would be cool cause my kid likes to leave it open
This would be great but if I wasn't home what good would it do if I couldn't close it? I guess it would be good to know.
I do not find this very useful at all. We do not have any children which helps. Our refrigerator is somewhat slanted so the door closes easily. I think that a monitor would be a waste of money in my case.
I would be very interested in this because it happens to me more than a few times, especially with my freezer when I go to get an ice cube or something.
I don't think this product is a necessity, but I'd buy it if the price is right.
It would be nice - sometimes my wife gets in a hurry and doesn't close the refrigerator all the way. So it would be nice to know when this happens so we don't waste energy!
I would like this product a lot because leaving the refrigerator open for a long time would not only risk having your food thaw out/melt but it also runs a ton of electricity having the light on in the fridge. It is very possible that anyone in the house could leave the refrigerator open and chances are that it would be an accident so they would not know to close it. Having this app would be a great way to avoid this issue and if it came out I would definitely get it myself.
I mean I've had this happen before, and so it would be great! Things happen especially with kids.
I feel like this could be a cool idea, but what happens after I have been alerted? Let's say that I am at work and I get a notification saying that my fridge is open. What can I really do about it? It's not like I can leave work to go home and close it. I like the idea, but it is rather impractical.
I think it's an okay idea. mine has a beep when left open. Anything more is kind of silly
This sounds great! It eliminates the worry of food spoiling and an excessive electricity bill.
I think this would be fairly useless
I have kids and they are always leaving the fridge door open. It is wasteful of money and food that goes bad. This would benefit me immensely!
This is a great thing that I would absolutely be interested in owning. Things like this help protect the environment as well as protect my grocery purchases. I think this is a great idea!
I would not be interested because I no longer have kids at home or many people that may be irresponsible and leave it open. My current refrigerator will start to beep after a certain amount of time when I am still using it. For instance, if I am stocking it after grocery shopping, the door is open longer than usual, so the beeping will start. I find it kind of annoying. It also beeps when I am rummaging in the freezer drawer, trying to find an remove the item of my choice. I am not a big fan of smart devices or things that are designed to replace human behavior. I prefer to stay aware of my surroundings and do things the old fashioned way, like being aware of my actions. Granted, my opinion may drastically change if I start to live with someone who is suffering from Alzheimers or if I have very young or underdeveloped visitors to my home. But if I get a notification and am not at home, I still would not be able to close the door, so I guess I would be more interested in a device that would close the door.
This will be an energy and expense saver. The product is very likeable and a conservatory. I will be a user.
I'm not sure that this would be something I use. My refrigerator already beeps to alert me.
I would like it to come with an automatic hinge to shut the door - If I am at work I would not be able to come home to close it
I like the concept of the alert but what would the app do to help me I wasn't home to actually shut the fridge door.
I would definitely be interested in this product. My refrigerator/freezer is constantly left open by my kids and this would be extremely helpful.
This isn't a terrible idea, but if you need an app or device to remind to shut the refrigerator door then you probably seek better help than an app. I wouldn't be interested at all, this idea definitely seems a little too much to be honest.
