My current boss is amazing. Everyone jokes around and it is a very relaxed environment
My boss was the boss I had early on in my career when I worked at Burger King. He would always go above and beyond for us. For example, when a customer complained, he'd almost always stand up for his workers. He just trusted us to do the right thing, and it was a lot easier to do the right thing when someone put some faith in you.
Hmmm, the best boss I've ever had was a lady called ANgela. She was smart and funny as a whip .She was understanding and brilliant - i LOVED HER
I think there needs to be a level of respect and understanding. We don't have to be friends, and I am very well aware of the fact you make more money then me and have been with the company longer, but just talk to me like we are on the same level as people
The best boss I had tended to be easy to work with, fair, and was knowledgeable about everyone's role
My best best boss that I’ve ever had in my working life, would have to be my current boss. My boss is charismatic, energetic, confident, compassionate, assertive, considerate, thoughtful, creative, and innovative.
The best boss I had was willing to listen to me and was always there for me when I had trouble. They didn't criticize me all the time and they were responsible, hardworking, and always on time to hear what I had to say.
My recent supervisor cared about me as a person, which made me want to work hard for her. People work well when they are respected and feel cared for; it's a much better incentive than being harsh!
the best boss i ever had was down to earth, understanding but firm, led by example not by an iron fist and took into consideration employees opinions.
When I was working as a parking attendant. My boss treated me so good, would help me a lot Helped me buy my first car, would pay me in advance if I need it. Would let me work over if I wanted for extra pay. Treated me so good and was always fair.
My best boss was one who had complete trust in me when i worked as a groundskeeper in college. He trusted us and had faith that we would get the job done and would not micromanage. my favorite part was assigning us a plot to maintain and asking our team if it was reasonable to do it in a day, we would negotiate and he would leave us and let us work at our own pace and as long as we got the job done by the deadline he did not care at what pace we worked.
The best boss I ever had was supportive and encouraged new ideas. He was friendly and open minded.
I've had a lot of bosses in my life as I've had a lot of jobs but the best boss i can think of is my current boss. He is always teaching me new things and is understand when i make a mistake. We also have a good rapport.
I've never seen him raise his voice, he is always calm and collected. He has humility when making the same mistakes employees have. He honestly seems concerned with employee's well being and is flexible with time off.
The best boss I ever had was the best listener. He made sure all of our voices was heard and he made the necessary changes.
He was just down to earth. It wasn't trying stuck on anybody else's life he just wanted to do his best
The best boss I had was a woman named Karen. The thing that made her the best boss is that she made me feel appreciated. When she would ask me to stay over or do something extra she always said thank you. It made me feel good and I worked hard for her because of how nice she was.
The best boss I had was someone who made me feel like my voice was being heard. The boss would nicely greet me every day and engage with me to make sure I was fine. She would stand up for me in issues that I felt very strong about. But the main reason why she was the best boss was because I felt like I could rely on her if I had any issues. She would kindly listen and give me advice and I knew it was coming from a genuine place. To have someone in the workplace where you feel like what you say matters is very important and not every boss will make you feel that way.
my boss is always willing to listen to my questions and cares for my career growth.
The best boss I ever had was friendly to everyone. He never hesitated to roll up his sleeves and work in the trenches with us if needed. If he reprimanded us, we never felt like we were being reprimanded, but instead wanted to do better to meet his legitimate expectations. He valued us as people, and not just as cogs in a system.
they were very open to listening to my problems, and they were able to give me feedback when i needed it. I felt comfortable with them, and didnt hesitate to come to them when i needed them.
He acted more like a friend than a boss, he was professional, and cared about me personally, took the time to get to know me. It was like working with my best friend, except he was my boss.
my current boss. She legitimately cares ad works with you and does not act better in any way she does the same stuff we do a lot of times and it is all about getting the job done. She always perseveres. never taken a day off that I have seen. she also sincerely cares about the employees
Dave was the best boss I have had. He treated me like a family and mentored me in every critical steps on my job. His empathy, honesty, sense of humor, trust and credibility were the qualities I likes the most.
My best boss was always a listener. He always allowed me to work at my own pace and gave frequent feeback.
The best boss I've had in my working life was when my boss let me go home early just because i was doing good at my job and the store was in good shape and no much customer so often he would tell me i can go home early if I'd like and he would order me food. He was a nice and sweet boss and i won't forget it.
The best boss I had was empathetic, encouraging, and tough without being mean. It's a hard balance to strike, but I am very inspired by people who demand excellence without letting you feel like you are failing them. They have an ability to set benchmarks just right so that if you work hard, you can achieve them and be proud of it.
In my working life the best boss I ever had was one of my first bosses when I was a teenager. They were patient and understanding and help me to learn a lot.
He was competent, warm, and sincere. He truly cared about the well-being of his team. He was the hardest worker and was always willing to teach and guide us. He was okay with us making mistakes because he said that's how we would learn. And he was always willing to accommodate any schedule or shift changes.
The best boss I had was at the job before my current one. She was always very communicative, positive, and found ways for me to improve without ever making me feel small. She retired, and that's the only reason I left my previous place of business. Her replacement wasn't as thoughtful, or as capable. She had 40 years of experience, and it showed in every encounter I had with her.
The best boss I've had was a mentor to me. They always tried to give me projects that put my skills to use, supported me when I needed help, and gave me a lot of professional advice. I felt supported and learned a lot from them.
My last boss I had was wonderful. SHe was kind and empathetic. She was understanding and trusted me.
The best boss I've had in my working life was firm yet kind. She was clear in her expectations and required our best. She was also extremely generous, understanding, and accommodating. She has developed loyalty like I've never seen before from long standing employees. So much so, that the majority of the people I worked with drove out of their way to work for her, they transferred when she transferred. It was amazing to see.
I had worked for a boss, who totally understood my job and would never question anything because in the 2 years I worked for him we never had any problems with work or on a personal level. He always would trust my judgment on how to go about handling the work that needed to be done. I will never have a good boss like him ever again.
My best boss is my boss I has about ten years ago. He was someone who was easy to understand what he wanted. He would treat everyone fairly and actually seemed like he cared. He would give the presence of being a boss without being too hard on people or making them worried about him being there.
My best boss always had his staff contribute to a situation or problem to help find a solution rather than he dictate what needs to be done. Even if he knew the best solution he would have his staff work on the solution together to help strengthen our team. He was open with everything he wanted and never kept secrets, he was fair and didn't act like a king he just acted like one of us only he took the brunt when things didn't well.
My boss from 6 years ago was the best boss I ever had. He took the time to train me and always had time to meet with me on any questions or issues I had. Any feedback he gave me was constructive.
The current boss I have is the best one I have had in my life. We have a great relationship. In addition, he is very smart, supportive, funny and listens to my input. I feel that he is always on my side.
I would have to say my last boss. At first I didn't know if I liked him or not! However, he gave me tasks to do that greatly surpassed my qualifications and education. I had a way with people and he did not. I was able to negotiate contracts easily. He was dumbfounded. I just told him that you just need to listen to the people and see what you can do to meet their needs. I have to say, there was one woman who was madder than hell. She called up complaining to my boss over something. I went over to her offices and she approached me. I could see fire in her eyes and I threw my hand up and said, "Wait, that is the most beautiful blouse that I have ever seen." "You look fantastic!" Then I proceeded to ask her what the issue was that she was having. She kind of just muddled, "Oh, I forgot."
The best boss I've had was one willing to put himself in your shoes. He would also not hesitate to assist with a crappy task that needed to be done. When a boss is willing to get dirty with his subordinates, it goes miles with earning respect from your crew.
I think the best boss I had was probably at my first job. He was very patient with me and wanted me to feel comfortable moving forward learning the job. I was really scared to try to count cash and run the register so he gave me a raise in order to encourage me. It worked and I ran a cash register confidently for many years after.
My best boss smiled a lot. They were very patient with me even though I asked them a lot of questions. I made a lot of mistakes, but they never got mad at me. They understood why I wanted to quit when I told them I was leaving.
It would have to be my current boss because she is so understanding honestly! She is always easy to access in terms of speaking to and she speaks to me as if I am the same level as her and is understanding as long as I get my own work done. It's a big plus for me personally.
He was the best because he was caring, fun, he asked about my personal life, and my professional development, and I know he always had my back
The best boss I had was laid back but very smart and hard working. He did his job and led by example and never expected us to do anything that he wouldn’t do himself. He was also very humble about his accomplishments.
The best boss I ever had provided me with a lot of opportunities to intellectually grow and promoted me for demonstrating my competence. I was rewarded and financially compensated proportionally to my hard work.
The best boss I have is my present one. He is just like any of us meaning he does not think he's better because he is an assistant manager. He's nice, honest, hardworking, and treats everyone with respect. He gets his job done but knows how to have fun at the right times. You can talk to him about work or personal and he will not gossip. He's a great boss and person.
He was willing to get his hands dirty and work alongside the rest of us.
My first boss in my first tech job. He taught me everything I needed to know to be successful in the corporate world
A natural leader and teacher were the best qualities
My best boss was an art history professor who I TA'ed for when in grad school. He was thorough, always informing his assistants regarding the schedule and any changes to it, and he trusted us enough not to micromanage our teaching and grading. On one occasion, when a student tried to get another TA in trouble with the administration, the professor backed the TA unequivocally and I realized I was working for someone who had my back.
The qualities that made her the best was that she created an environment that made our office feel like a team. She created an atmosphere where we all enjoyed working together and being supportive. By no means was she a pushover, but definitely listened and took the voices of everyone into consideration -- from top to bottom.
He was very nice and respectful. He didn't micromanage, like other bosses I've had. He knew that employees knew how to do their job and as long as you got the job done well, even if you took an extra break or longer lunch break once in a while, he was okay with it. He didn't treat employees as if they were inferior, he treated them equally. He was good about time off requests. He was down to earth, trustworthy, patient, responsible and humble.
She was more like a team captain than a boss. She worked with us, listened to our suggestions, and then made decisions. She admitted when she made mistakes and was willing to make changes whether the ideas being tried were hers or others. She recognized our hard work and rewarded us in varied ways. She was respectful in word and deed.
The best boss I ever had was someone who trusts you to do the work without supervision and doesn't breathe down your neck. This person trusted me to get the job done and didn't need to check up on me every day to see how it was going. This person always had my back and always gave me a chance to explain the situation if there was an issue. This person also didn't go after me when a mistake was made. A common line would be, its a mistake, learn from it and move on. All these quality's make you want to run through a wall for them and want to work even harder for them.
My last boss, because she always had my back and genuinely cared about my career. If I had a concern, she was there to listen and offer advice. She was always pushing me to be better and looking for the best opportunities for me to take the next step. She constantly backed me up and defended me when needed, and always had a kind word for me when she was speaking to senior leadership. She also instilled a fun working environment and encouraged bonding between coworkers.
The best boss I have ever had was an understanding one. We are people too. Also did not question me or over work me.
My boss was kind, understanding, and willing to teach me. The job I had was the first one I had in that field, so I wasn't exactly sure about what to do and how to do it. She was patient with me and took the time to show me how to do everything. More importantly, once she had taught me, she "let me fly" and do it on my own to see how I did. She didn't hover over me or stick her nose in my business. She trusted me to do my work and I rose to the challenge thanks to her leadership.
The best boss I've had in my working life was incredibly empathic and supportive - she took the time to listen to my concerns and needs, and helped me take the steps I needed to both do my job and thrive in my role, while preparing me for bigger things. She was a shield between myself and the higher management, and always looked for ways to be helpful and supportive.
I remember the boss I had at my first job, a grocery store in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. He was one of us, and didn't pretend to be higher up in the company than we were. I felt my dealings with him were fair, and he didn't put up with nonsense from his employees. I like how he treated me and his process for keeping people in line was solid.
Thebest boss i ever had actually believed in my skills and my teammates skills. He would include us in decisions and ask for our opinions on everything. If he didn't agree then there was always a good middle groundthat we were willing to agree upon.
The best boss I've ever had was extremely clear and direct about her expectations of my work. She held the bar high and challenged me while still supporting me. She never made me feel stupid; she said that none of my questions were dumb and that I should feel free to reach out with her with any issues no matter how small the problem was. She also walked me through things step by step until I got the hang of tricky assignments. Finally she was just a kind person. When I made mistakes, she wouldn't hold them against me. She would certainly expect that I learn from the mistakes and would not be okay with me repeating the same mistake twice, but she would forgive and forget anything once -- something that allowed my career to flourish, since she never held grudges or questioned my competence just because I slipped up.
The best boss I have ever had was patient and a hard worker. She never expected more than what she was willing to give. She also set an expectation for me to think for myself as she did not have all of the answers.
I had a lady store manager (Barnes & Noble Booksellers) who was awesome - very intelligent, knew how to motivate workers yet respect them, led by example, and, to top it all off... was gorgeous and sexy. It was a joy to work with her.
The best boss I've had was really hands off for the most part. He made sure you had what you needed, was available during his shifts, and so long as you completed your work decently, he largely left you alone. He regularly went out of his way to try to protect those under him, be it budget cuts or issues perceived by higher ups.
The best boss I've ever had was the head of the technical department in my university, back when I.T. was a relatively new idea in the world. The university didn't think we really needed a whole tech department, and saw it as just a profit loss, and considered dissolving us completely. He singlehandedly set up meetings with the dean of students and all of the heads of department and fought for us hard constantly, and eventually convinced them that having a tech department was necessary and would save us a lot of pain and future expenses. He was also always friendly to us even if he was having a bad day, and tried to keep on top of new tech issues so he understood the problems we had. I think the ideal boss is much like this, although it is a lot to live up to. As a boss, you need to believe in your department, speak up about their importance, treat them as friends as well as with respect, and keep informed about the issues that affect your company as well as your workers. It was a very stressful job for him, but we all had nothing but the utmost respect for him every step of the way.
honest, caring, appreciative
The best boss I have ever had is one who was very helpful, encouraging, yet stood fast when someone was trying to take advantage.
The best boss that Ive had in my working life was a leader and an example of how a human being should behave. He was in control of his emotions and treated everyone with respect. He encouraged us to learn and to become better at our jobs. He never let his emotions control his temper and even when we failed he managed to inspire us instead of getting angry like other bosses have in the past. He was hard working, patient and saw things with a unique sense of humor. I learned a lot from my boss.
My favorite boss was understanding and rational. She followed through on things she would do, which was probably my favorite attribute of her. She was very dedicated and was pretty upbeat, and these two qualities made people want to follow her.
When I was an electrician one of my bosses Actually cared about how I felt about things. They did not yell and were always in a decent mood. The other people I had to work under had such bad tempers. I enjoyed working with someone who wasn't so mean and upset all the time.
The best boss I had was a couple of years into my retail career. She was one of the few that would know everyone by name - even people much lower on the totem pole than her, so to speak. She was incredibly friendly and would make sure to greet everyone she passed by during the day - maybe ask about something going on in your life so you knew she was listening to you and cared. She would stand up for you if you were being mistreated by customers or other employees. But she was also firm. We could all joke around and chat, but things needed to be done in a timely manner and done correctly. So I think something that makes a good boss is someone that listens, is friendly, can have a good time, but can also keep people on task.
My current boss is amazing, she has been my boss for almost 9 years now and she is extremely kind and nice. I have never heard my boss raise her voice or get nasty with anyone which is best thing about her that I like. My boss is really helpful and smart a couple a perks that make my job a pleasure.
She was my boss at my school kitchen job. She was the nicest lady she treated me like a friend. She helped me and gave me advise and understood me. She helped me an encouraged me in my job.
He was very friendly & helpful. He would always work as hard as anyone else in the place. He was very organized & dedicated to the company.
The best boss I have ever had was my first job out of highschool. He was more a mentor too me than a boss. He had the patience of a saint and really knew how to speak to people on a level they would understand. I've listed his best qualities below:-Excellent communicator-Effective listener- Nonjudgmental-Truthful
The best boss I had was a partner at an accounting firm. He was different than many of the other partners. He was kind, funny, and wise but not intense. He was a pleasure to work with and he focused on what was important so I didn't mind when I had to work overtime because I always knew it had a purpose. He could make tough decisions when he had to do but you knew there was never any bad intentions.
MY CURRENT BOSS OF 12 YEARS IS THE BEST. SHE DOES NOT MICRO MANAGE. SHE LETS YOU DO YOUR JOB, HELPS WHEN NEEDED, AND GIVES YOU THE TOOLS YOU NEED TO DO THE JOB
He was a leader whose vision and calm under difficult situations is something to admire. His attentiveness to the problems or difficulties of everyone under his wings. He's well articulated and understanding, Ready to help when faced with problems.
The best boss that I ever had was really easy to talk to. She was always open to listening to those around her and did not take offense to suggestions or complaints. She was generally cheerful all the time and a pleasure to be around. She smiled a lot and made people feel comfortable in the work place. She would ask about our home lives with genuine concern and interest. She encouraged us to grow and learn about our field and always had something interesting to say on topics relating to our field.
My best boss gave me a chance when I did not have any experience and started my career. He was a great mentor and person.
My boss, Dave was the best boss I've ever had. He allows his employees the autonomy to determine how to best do the work. He treats everyone like and equal and makes everyone want to be a part of his team. He always backs his employees.
He was smart and creative. He was always good at predicting how a project will end. He is very intelligent. I adore and respect him so much. He was also punctual and time conscious. I emulate a lot of his characteristics.
My boss would jump in if we needed the xtra help and really cared about all of us
I think my best boss was my first boss in the information technology field. I was a clueless and worthless intern, but instead of ever getting impatient with me, he was patient and taught me a lot, slowly. That was 15 years ago and we still check on each other to this day. Back to his qualities, while I consider him to be an essentric genius when it came to IT or just on the spectrum, he was often not respected at work because he was a little bit childish and weird. Sometimes didn't appear to have showered or washed/brushed his hair, or wore clothes that fit him correctly. This made him unpopular for management positions where he would have to speak in meetings that would represent the company. Nobody could deny that he knew the system better than anybody else though so he was kept in the data center, behind a locked door, and when he took his phone apart so that nobody could call him, nobody bothered to make him put it back together. Great guy, and his patience with me led to me being able to eventually move on two years later into a successful IT career.
The best boss I ever had was my grocery department leader in college. He was very charismatic and liked the same music that I did. We got along well and he was very fair to me, letting me do my thing.
I would have to pick my direct supervisor when I worked in the Purchasing Dept of a school district in So Cal. She was kind, understanding while still maintaining order and discipline. Truly a pleasure to work for.
The best boss I have had was always supportive with my decision at work, and helped me to grow my career. Treated me friendly.
Hashish, yes that was his name. Demanding, never settled for less, tough. But if you worked hard and used your noggin' he fought for you and supported you every step of the way.
He allowed me to work in my own personal office in his home and allowed me to smoke weed on the job.
The best boss I had was helpful, always available to speak with, and never asked me to do anything they wouldn't do themselves. They were honest, friendly, fair, and hard working.
My best boss appreciated the work I did. He pushed me to write an abstract of my work and submit it. It was accepted! And from then one I was able to attend conferences for 10 years. Traveling to China, Turkey, Thailand, Europe , Australia and many other places. I gave over 33 talks. No other boss has appreciated the work I have done. The good boss recognized achievement and made you want to work for the good of the company.
He wouldn't tell us to do anything he wasn't willing to do himself. He supported his employees in their personal lives (i.e. gave me $500 as a wedding gift). Just a great, hardworking man of good character.
She was the mom. She was so caring and thoroughly professional. She was the biggest cheerleader and focused on career advancement of those of us that were under her and was great to the client.
The boss i work with is the best and he has many good qualities such as being a understanding boss, he is easy to relate and work with, he is someone that listening to our opinions at work and he is a special, jovial and kind boss
current boss...leads by example by doing and not just telling, open and honest and is a people person
What made this boss the best boss I've had in my working life is her ability to empathize and understand us. She always tried to strive for the best while allowing room for mistakes and constructive criticism. I think there are a lot of bosses that are rigid and therefore is not as effective as opposed to one that trusts us.
a boss that i had 3 years ago because he was not only a manager he also had the technical skills that allowed him to relate to my work
The best boss I had was a man who was not only knowledgeable, but knew how to equip me and train me for the job. He treated me very well at work, meaning that he always leveled with me and made sure I had everything I needed to get the job done. He told me to make mistakes while he was around so it can be a teaching moment. He also expected quality work from me and entrusted me with important accounts.
She was a strong woman who wasn't afraid to voice her opinions and was a good role-model for me just starting out in my career. I felt that she would back-up her subordinates and was really interested in helping them advance themselves both personally and professionally. She actually officiated my wedding because she was so happy to help people.
