Option A won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 93 votes after 1 round of vote counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 |
---|---|
A | 93% 93 votes |
C | 4% 4 votes |
B | 3% 3 votes |
i like to do it while jogging
I listen to audio books for convenience, and so I can move around and do other things.
I would want to be able to listen to the books in my everyday life and still get everything done that I need to.
Pretty much it allows me to multi-task and do other things. So it helps a lot with convenience.
Made my choices based on which reason(s) I listen to audio books. The reason and importance in A is the one that I find to be more resonating with me
It helps me keep focused on a task if I can listen to something in the background.
Sometimes I just like to listen to a book. I don't have any impairments that prevent me from reading. It also helps if it is a more technical book, that I can follow along with steps.
I chose option A because that's the only time I listen to audio books is while I'm doing something else.
I listen to audio books because I listen to them while playing a game or doing other task. I also don't like the eye strain I get from looking at the books all day.
Doing boring chores or going on long road trips is the best time to play a audiobook and make the boredom bearable.
Choice A is my 1st Choice, because it keeps me from getting bored. Choice B is my 2nd choice, because I have a learning disability. Choice C is my 3rd choice, because I listen to audiobooks to go to sleep.
I choose A because I can save times while still be able to acquire new knowledge
Option A is the most convenient use for me, and for other I would say when I want to relax and just listen. I do not have the problems in option B
I chose A because I listen to audiobooks when I am driving as entertainment.
I hate reading and being able to listen to it, gives me more free time to do things.
It helps me to calm my mind when i have things in my life going on
I listen to them during exercising, it makes a boring activity more fun.
Basically the only reason is so that I can be doing something else while listening to the book. Otherwise I prefer physical books. The only other time would be if getting a physical book was extremely difficult or expensive for some reason, and the audiobook was easier or cheaper to acquire. Then I might listen to the audiobook.
So A is really it, I listen while I am working. For B I really don't have time to read a book the traditional way. For C, I like how some of the readers dramatize the book for me and add a dimension to the experience.
I like to listen when I go on a walk with my dog. It is the only time I have to myself and I like to read when I have time too, this allows me to accomplish two things.
I like listening while I am doing other things such as driving
A, being able to do another activity while still "reading" a book would be nice.B, I wear glasses so my eyes get tired sometimes switching between up close and far away.C....I have no idea. Maybe some people listen to books to help fall asleep.
I love to listen to audio books while doing my crafts. It is a great choice and a nice change from TV. It is double escapism from reality. Crafting and a story.
I love listening to audio books while doing other things that would normally not allow me to read. Just feels super efficient.
I listen to audiobooks while commuting. I feel like it saves me time and makes use of time that would otherwise be wasted.
I like to learn new things while listening
I listen to them when exercising or driving long distances. I have no accessibility issues.
i listenn when i walk, or am doing mundane things
Option A is the only one that applies to me.
I love the thought of reading and multitasking. Audiobooks allow me to listen while driving, working on the yard, or other activities.
I picked A as my top choice as I like to listen to audiobooks while working on hits or projects.
I definitely cannot read certain things too well compared to listen, with my attention span. On the other hand, I cannot really listen to some information dense books. I need to reread it or whatever. I prefer the books or whatever I can listen to while I am doing something else.
After carefully studying and comparing all three reasons listed above for why I listen to audiobooks, I selected Option A as my first preference because I really do enjoy being able to multi-task while listening to my audiobooks. I selected Option B as my second choice because I do suffer from vision loss and must wear both contact lenses and glasses to see and frequently suffer from eye fatigue. Option C was my last choice because I have no other reasons that I can think of for listening to audio books.
I like listening while I am doing something else especially driving. Also it helps me relax before going to bed.
Being able to listen and casually pay attention to an audiobook is wonderful. Reading, while still very enjoying, requires your concentration and it's easy to read but simply not absorb what you just read. Audiobooks let's someone else do simply tell the story to you and you can pay attention as much or as little as you want. I rank Option C as second because it's helps me fall asleep. Option B is not applicable to me.
I am able to multitask better, at times when I can't hold a book, like doing dishes, I can still enjoy it. Sometimes my eyes get tired and this offers a chance for me to read and listen and relax with my eyes closed.
A is spot on. I can listen to a book, while doing something else. I can listen to a book, while I'm working, or out driving. It's very convenient.
I simply listen to them for option A. It's nice to be able to listen to books while driving, exercising, cleaning etc. It seems more productive than just listening to music.
Normally I listen to audiobooks as a way of multi-tasking.
I am constantly on the go or doing something, so audiobooks are really convenient for me as I don't have a lot of time to physically read a book.
it's nice to have background noise while doing things
Option A best fitted why I listen to audiobooks. Option B and C didn't really fit which is why I ranked it last.
I love to multi task like drive or clean up while I'm listening to favorite audios or podcasts
top choice is a true reflection of my preferences
I like to listen to them on long drives or when I'm playing video games
I'm usually lifting or cleaning when listening
I listen to audio books so that I have background noise or a way of consuming literature while multi-tasking. I do not have any impairments. The only other reason I consume audio books is sometimes because an equivalent copy in hardbound form is very expensive comparatively, though this case is rare.
I enjoy the ability to be able to exercise or do housework while listening to an audiobook as it makes a task go by faster since I am focusing on the audiobook
I listen to audiobooks because it's a great way of multitasking compared to reading. I can go jogging, do my gardening, take a shower, or even nap and be able to listen to audiobooks.
I mainly listen to audiobooks while I am doing other chores, such as working or cleaning, around my home. I like to have something playing in the background while I get my mundane tasks out of the way. This is why option A is my first choice. I enjoy reading, however, it can strain my eyes after a time and I am severely dyslexic. Listening to the audiobook, at night, is a great way to fall asleep and not injure my eyes. Option C is my last choice, and my "other" would be while outside in the yard. I like to sit on the porch or in the yard and put in ear phones while listening to an audiobook, sipping on some ice water and watching the kids play.
I mainly listen to audiobook while commuting or taking a road trip in the car.
I picked the most important reasons for me and the "other" option for me would include convenience.
I like to listen on my drives, while I work. While I do stuff around the house etc
I chose Option A because the reason i like to listen is pretty much solely to be able to use them while driving, exercising, or at work.
Other, because sometimes I don't have time to sit and read.
I like being able to do other things while listening. I ranked B as second because that would be second most important to me
I prefer the option A reason because I enjoy listening to podcasts as background music while I am doing other things. I chose option C second because I also like to listen to podcasts to learn other things and think about the world and cosmos. I chose option B last because I do not have any accessibility issues that prevent me from listening to podcasts.
I listen to them because it keeps me busy/entertained when I'm doing things around the house, like chores, or other somewhat boring activities. It makes them more fun. I chose C next because I listen for entertainment and learning. There are so many out there, and I can find one very easily, that really fits what I'm looking for in that moment. I chose B last because I don't have these issues, although it's super important the people who do have equal access.
I love to listen to audio books while driving. The book relieves the traffic stress and annoyance. I also like to listen while gardening, because listening is a distraction from the heat and humidity.
Being able to listen while doing something else is the best way to be more active.
A is most important to me, the convenience is very important
I like to listen to them while driving or exercising, usually.
It's nice to listen to them if I have a headache.
I like being able to knit or do other crafts while listening. They're also good for listening to while bathing/relaxing. I chose B last because while I do wear glasses I don't have serious enough visual issues (or other issues) that don't allow me to read a print book.
I mainly listen to past time or while I'm cooking or cleaning
I like to listen to audiobooks while going on a long drive.
Option A is the reason. I have nothing to add.
I love reading, but my time to sit down and enjoy a book is limited. During my commute or while I am mowing the lawn - this provides me to be able to listen and fill my need during otherwise wasted time.
I prefer option A because it's convenient and allows me to do other things while I'm listening. Option C and B don't resonate as much because I don't have other reasons.
I listen to books while driving. I can’t learn anything with music to I listen to books to learn while driving to work. I don’t really have an other because I just listen when I can focus on listening. B doesn’t apply
I listen so that I can drive safely, or when I'm on long flights or commutes. Sometimes it's for other mindless tasks around the house, though that's less common.
Option A is far and away the most important, Option B is not an issue, Option C is second because I like to switch it up from just reading sometimes.
Audio books are great to listen to while driving.
Pretty much the only reason is A - I love being able to do other things while I read/consume books.
I prefer option A because its more like what I need.
I put option A as first because that's the only reason I listen to audio books
Mine was while driving. Ran out of podcasts so I tried books.
Always when driving, C sometimes when at my child's sports practice to block out other parents
Listening makes boring tasks like exercising, etc., go by faster. I also listen to audio books to go to sleep by. I don't have any accessibility issues, so that is not why I choose audio books.
I think that its the ease of just hearing someone else speak to me that makes it worth it.
I like having the ability to multi-task
I like listening to audiobooks while driving, doing chores and cooking.
LISTENING WHILE DRIVING IS PROBABLY THE REASON WHY I LISTEN
I am not a big reader because of dyslexia. I like to listen while i drive.
I only listen to audiobooks when I'm driving in the car.
I listen while doing something else as it is more productive. I also listen because it is easier to learn something while driving and better than reading.
I like audiobooks primarily so I can listen while I am doing something else, mainly when in the car or exercising. I do like listening to the different intonations when listening vs. reading. I don't have any accessibility issues.
I think Option A sums up my experience because I like to multi task and listening to something helps the other task go by quicker. Option B is an okay assessment because I'm getting older and it's harder for me to read certain fonts. Option C is the last choice because I can't think of anything else other than being too lazy to read.
A is really the only reason. I listen while exercising primarily.
I picked A the most because I mostly listen to audiobooks because I enjoy doing other activities while listening. I might go on a walk or clean my home while listening. I picked C next because sometimes I listen to audiobooks because it's easier to focus on them than when reading a book. I picked B last because I don't listen to audiobooks due to a visual impairment or other accessibility issue.
It depends on a lot of factors. I might want to do other things OR I might not be able to hold a book at the time and just want to escape into a story.
does swimming count as something else :) also i like to listen while doing the dishes or other things.
Listening to audiobooks makes everything so much easier for me. It distracts me enough while I am doing mundane tasks to make those tasks a lot more bearable, even enjoyable!
Accessibility is most important because it's literally illegal to not make things ADA compliant in the us
I would choose choice B because it gives a better explanation to why we need to use the audio book as compared to the explanation given choice A and C. Then choice A will be second because it has a better explain as compared to choice C which has a very little amount of explanation.
I am dyslexic and while I manage, hearing things is much easier than reading things. I also like multitasking so option A applies as a close 2nd
I enjoy listening to it while I do other things but usually prefer to read along with the audiobook. Then I enjoy using it while I ride my bike on rollers or I am washing dishes.
C first because I don't like listening to audiobooks. A next over B because the few times I have its so I can do something else like work.
I voted in terms of most easy to remember
I listen to audio books for other reasons.
