Chose A because the headline sounds more ominous.
A "sad announcement" could mean so many things so it makes me more curious.
A is definitely click bait, but it is more clickable because B pretty much tells you the news in the headline.
Could be anything, option b gives away the annoucement. so no need to click.
I would be more likely to click on option A because I think that it is a more interesting and intriguing headline. Option B kind of gives away what the announcement is, whereas option A is much more mysterious.
I'd likely click this one, because as tragic as it is, hearing 'sad announcement' catches my eyes and causes my mind to wander about all the potential details that could take up the situation; be it retirement or worse. That said, I'd still prefer option B, but I'd be more LIKELY To click option A.
It leaves an air of mystery to make me want to find out more.
I'd more likely pick on A because I'd be curious what the announcement was. This seems a bit like click bait though.
A is more click bait and prompts you to look because you don't know what announcement is.
This headline leaves more to the imagination and triggers my emotions. It makes me want to find out more.
Option A is my preferred choice because it sounds more interesting than Option B. I don't really follow sports, so I don't really care if an athlete retires.
This one makes you wonder what the announcement is. It is better to me
"Sad announcement" would appeal to my emotions, as it could be any type of story that appeals to one's emotions.
It makes you want to find out what is sad.
I would click on Option A because the word "Sad" stands out and grabs my attention and makes me want to find out what happened to this star.
There is more mystery to this headline, it would pique my interest.
I guess A, but I don't like how deceptive it is. Feels like click bait, I WOULD click on it but be a little disgusted after I found out what the announcement was if it was just retirement.
Would want to know what makes the retirement sad so A is the best option here.
It creates suspense and curiosity in the contents of the link, it has an interesting way of delivering the message. It is more innovative.
It is full of suspense, it is more inclined towards creating special attention and focus on the contents and the curiosity can only be satisfied by clicking the link.
There is some mystery to option A, so that is the one I would likely be interested in.
I thought that this tagline was more dramatic and would better grab my attention.
the other one is too clickbaity
I think sad announcement is too much of a lame plea. I do not feel sorry for athletes in any capacity, so B is at least relevant to me as pure information rather than hyperbole.
I actively avoid clicking on headlines that are trying to make me feel something. I find they're often biased or "click bait".
i think the fact that choice db already recognizes the situation, makes me want to know more about who. choice a is too broad of a statement.
retirement is more of a happy ending and better phrasing for the end of a career
I do not like click baits that does and B is much more straight forward.
I chose option B. It is sad when they retire but A sounds like "Click Bait."
I think the other one is very click-baity. It might get my attention but honestly probably wouldn't care because it sounds unserious so wouldn't click on it. Choice B explains what the article will be about and I'd presumably want to know more about it.
Option B is more honest. Option A makes me feel like it's clickbait and makes me unhappy.
Option A sounds like clickbait
B is more straightforward and reads less like clickbait.
I like that this is more specific. I know exactly what it will be about. The other is a little ambiguous and almost sounds like a death
I prefer option B because it is more direct and straightfoward. Option A does not appeal to me as much!
Choice B because it is not clickbait and it tells me exactly what the article is about.
I picked option B because the announcement is more specific.
Choice B is the one because I like how the headline is straight to mentioning the major point without being a tease about it.
I avoid obvious clickbait like A.
I would choose option B. The title was clear, and I knew from the title what the article was about.
A sad announcement makes me think it's going to be heartbreaking that I wouldn't go with choice B, but at least choice A is telling me what it's going to be about
This headline is more specific. Retirement is permanent while the sad news could be unrelated to sports.
I can tell you'd easily that I'd be a lot more inclined to click Choice B. It's honest and straightforward about what the article's going to be about. A is clickbait, which I absolutely hate.
I would click this to read more about the actual story and the retirement
I would likely click on option B. I think it is less "click-baity" and makes me more curious about who the player is. Sad Announcement is too vague and seems like something to get you to click.
I'd choose the retirement announcement because it is concrete about what it is about. I follow sports and lately my Google News feed is being spammed with click bait headlines about players making sad, shocking, unexpected and so on announcements that just turn out to be a waste of my time so I don't click on those. I also don't click on the links that mention a player making some sensational or "eyebrow raising" tweet because those are almost all click bait now too.
I prefer option B, 'Star Player Announces Retirement,' for its direct and clear headline about the news without revealing the emotional tone.
This is more interesting to me. I do not care about sad announcements.
The "sad announcement" thing sounds too much like clickbait. The "announces retirement" is a lot more of a "facts please" approach.
I like this one because it is attention grabbing and straight to the point.
