Cover A allows me to connect myself to the main person in the story. Seeing an image of the female makes it more personal.

Option A is better because the cover background is actually relevant to the title whereas in option B it's not really even related and seems random.

Option A's cover looks like it has more to do with the actual title, and would probably be more eye-catching to someone browsing without even looking at the titles.
