I can identify with the cursive writing much better with this option. I also like the fact that the authors name is in black.
I like choice A better because the name is written in a smoother, more feminine font style and a more feminine font color, which is purple. It goes more with the woman on the cover.
The line weight is sketchy in B.

The pink gives it more of a feminine appeal. The font in option B would be more male oriented.
The word Austen seems more like a signature in this one. It seems more personalized.
First of All, why would you put option A second? thats just silliness. But the magenta thin font seemed clearer and to leap out on me more

THE WRITING ON OPTION B IS MORE NOTICEABLE AND THUS WOULD DRAW MORE ATTENTION TOO IT

Overall, I prefer Option B over Option A; I think that the word "Austen" would look even better if the font in Option B but the red color in Option A were used.

The font is more noticeable and more likely to grab attention.
If it is for an ebook, the font is much more visible for use in the postage-stamp images used by Amazon, et al.
