- What's PickFu?
- PickFu is a tool that provides instant, unbiased and insightful public opinion on questions that you care about.
- How much does it cost?
- It costs just $5.00 to get responses and comments from 50 different people.
- What makes you better than those other polling services?
- Insight: Our patent-pending polling process gets you both answers and analysis. See all the explanations behind each choice. You're bound to find new angles to your problem.
- Speed: You get results in minutes and hours, not days or weeks.
- Simplicity: It takes less than one minute to ask a question. Results are easy to understand.
- Savings: Go ahead and compare. We deliver insights that others can't offer at one-tenth of the price.
- Who can ask a question?
- Anyone can ask a question and get really interesting results.
- Why ask a question?
- Because it's good to get a second (or third, or fiftieth) opinion for your important decisions, especially if those opinions are unbiased.
- What kind of results do I get?
- Each set of results includes the following:
- Answer tally: Stats on how many people (and what percentage) chose each answer.
- Answer comments: Each responder explains why she chose what she did. These comments are often remarkably insightful.
- Demographic info: Info about those who answered your question, including gender, age, race, income, and educational level - displayed on pretty charts and broken down by each answer.
- Who answers my questions?
- We use a service called Mechanical Turk to provide a broad and unbiased set of answers to your questions. The majority of our costs go towards paying workers on Mechanical Turk to answer your questions. We use a variety of safeguards to ensure that the workers who answer your questions answer honestly and seriously.
- What are the demographics of the responders?
- Our responders skew slightly female, but otherwise are representative of the broad US demographics. You can view the demographics of our workers here.
- Couldn't I do this myself on Mechanical Turk?
- Yes, and here's how:
- Sign up for an account on Mechanical Turk.
- Fund your account.
- Design a question template.
- Determine how to filter and qualify workers to answer your question.
- Publish your question.
- Monitor the site as responses come in.
- Manually approve or reject each answer.
- Collect all your data, and calculate the demographic statistics.
OR, you could skip all that and create your question in one minute. - How can I trust the results?
- While any individual opinion might be biased, there's accuracy (and insight) in numbers. Also, our workers are not affiliated with your brand or cause, so you'll be getting truly unbiased answers to your questions.
- Is this a scientific poll/perfectly random sampling of the general public?
- No - carrying out a perfectly representative poll would cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. We offer quick opinions and insights from an unbiased group with similar demographics as the general population for a tiny fraction of that cost.
- What if I'm unhappy with the quality of the results?
- We stand behind our service 100%. If you are unsatisfied with the value of our service in any way, we'll gladly refund your purchase or give you credit for future questions.
- What does it mean when it says the question is "Private"?
- Private questions are not listed in our public directory and do not have commenting enabled. Responders will see the question when they answer it on a different page, but the only people who will be able to see the question's results page are the people you share the URL with.
- Do the responders see my results?
- No. The responders see a different page than the one you see and there is no identifying information on it. The only way they would see the results is if it's a public question and they see it in the directory.
- Are the options shown to responders in random order?
- Yes. Sometimes option A will be on the left, sometimes it'll be on the right. Here's an example.
